Gibs - yes or no?

One thing I always liked and enjoyed in games is gibbing people, now I understand people should admire the physics and let people fly around, that should stay.

But if I land a nade really close to a guy (enough so he can grab it and throw it back) and it explodes, he should too, with body pieces and organs flying around. A puddle of blood shouldn't be bad either.

Also, (point blank) shotgun and sniper hits from the bigger calibers should also dismember limbs and heads.

It's a marvelous game but there isn't enough violence in it to justify the mature rating, I need more blood :nod:

Red Orchestra like gore and gibbing would be awesome. ŚoF2 level of gibbing like you described there would be too much. I doubt a grenade tares a body appart, unless it`s a direct hit from a RPG or a m203.
Gore is always good, too bad CoD4 has so little of it.

Well I come from FEAR so the tiny poofs of blood here there are inadequate at best

The best thing in FEAR gibbing was when you ran straight toward a guy, blast him in apart with the shotgun and emerge from the other side of the blood cloud you just made

Lets not take it too far, but the odd arm or leg falling off aswell as a bit more blood would do me fine :).

Gibs are doom/TF2 style gore where the person explodes into chunks.

I think it's stupid. It's a nice effect in non-realistic art style games like Team Fortress 2, but in CoD, it's dumb. The headshot blood spurt effect is nice, and that's all I need. Gore for the sake of gore is dumb.

I would like to see a little more gore, but not like that SoF link. That is a too unrealistic. I just want a little more blood on the far wall whenever I head shot somebody.

no reason for gibs atleast in this iteration of COD. im pretty sure something like that requires some screwing around with the games engine and there are alot more worthwhile things i can think of that can be added.

It shouldn't be as much as SoF3, that's for sure, but there should be more imo. If you blast someone with a direct hit with an RPG, nothing short of an instagib should occur.

This will be in cod5... I can see it now.. much newer weapons (MP7A1 and stuff like that) and they will do the dmg they should do.. and just much more real.. cod4 is awesome but somting better then cod4... they really just have to add the GE is still good enuff for cod5 I mean no one can run 16xaa @ 1920x1200 right now on cod4 even with the best set up with everything on the highest... new weapons for cod5 and a whole new level of gore ( like real war)... I just would like to see more cod4 cali servers up I dont know whats going on but there are about maby 10 of them up at 8PM cali time... and it was not like this about a week ago.. maby it is the master server but I could see at least 10-15 servers with 80ish ping.. and now I see all 140+.. it really sucks.. they need to fix alot of things and make it to where you cant be in the server if you have over 150 ping (with all servers) in cod4.. but a few more fixes and some better servers up not all this mix map crap.. we need much more 24/7 map servers.. or even a server with Crash and Downpore.. they are my 2 fav maps.. just about a few 100 more servers like that and fix the whole ping thing and cod4 will be set for about 3 more years.. untill cod5 comes out.. but cod4 will be my main game for at least 3 years.. or untill cod5 comes out..

I think the amount is fine... just leave the best stuff to games like TF2. That makes me laugh. :P

I think if you shoot somebody there should be a "hole" in the clothing and red (for the blood).

And then the blood kinda falls out, just a little, you gota remmeber kids ( I mean younger then 13-11) play this game.

But yeah, when I shoot somebody I want some kind of blood, not only when I headshot!
