That's the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

I didn't even notice the lack of gore, it would really make absolutely zero difference to me if there was blood or not.

Weird thread, is it the age thing? It's like looking into the dark dungeons of some people's minds...

No, I'm only 17 and I find it unnecessary.

think he was replying to the OP but i know where your coming from. I think think the gore level in CoD4 is perfect.

I think so, also. I like it the way it is. More gore and I'd have to wait to play until the kids went to bed...

Oh come on, like violence in games affects kids. If they are born to be criminals/thieves/murderers/whatever they will fulfill that purpose with or without GTA, SoF or CoD.

Gibs don't impact gameplay, so it's not really needed. Wouldn't there also be performance problems? Like if a grenade exploded next to five people and every one of them exploding into pieces?

No gibbing needed, IMO. Maybe some blood textures for shot up bodies, max. What little gibbing is already present is enough keep the game fun without turning it into comedy.

Last night my kid snuck up behind me and blew my brains out with his sniper rifle. Watching it on the kill cam, there were some definite pink bits flying out of my head in the hit animation I can only assume were chunks of brain. A good, not-over-the-top effect. Leave well enough alone, I'd say.

                    Thanks for expressing your opinion...

My kids are very young and innocent. I'm their parent and will do what is in their best interests.

There will be 1 or 2 good gore mods when the tools get released. Even if they do add gore with a patch or something, which would be freaking awesome, those who don`t like it can turn it off.

I know the dod:s gore mods are kinda insane, shot a guy and a spurt of blood leaps 4 feet into the air.

And leadcannon your sig makes me want to punch babies.

I won't be playing Soldier of Fortune... thats for sure.

I wouldn't go any farther than the "realistic amount" of gore that takes place in real life. Going over that is senseless... and

The future is bleak... why do people get so excited over seeing other humans ripped to bits and spewing blood? Isn't enough that you're firing guns and killing?

Quite probably, yes. The more objects/fx you have to render, the harder the hit on the PC.

I think it's fine with the blood/mist/spatter as-is. Putting in too much gore might make it like a cheap horror movie, where you tend to almost laugh at it and not take it as seriously as a subtle, but realistic hint of blood.
