    BF2 = simply brilliant!

BF2 is the only game, I've been playing over and over and over, and I still enjoy it everytime I play like the first time I've played it. The gameplay is just superb, no other "clones" come even close to it.

The infantry combat feels great and the vehicles feel very proper, it really feels like you're driving a 60 ton tank and I love to see the suspention work when you go over the bumps or even stop fast. With the other clone games that try to be like BF(ET:QW, FFOW,....) vehicles feel like match boxes, they have no weight and no feel to them.

I got tired of all the games but BF2 is still lots of joy to play, I bought CoD4, played it, liked it, but it got so boring and repetitive so fast that i've already uninstalled it.

And the graphics of BF......I used to play BF2 on low graphics settings, couple of days ago I switched to medium, I get a bit less FPS, but I'm astonished just how good and realistic this game looks.

I just can't wait for BF3, I really really hope DICE will focus hard and give us something amazing like BF2 and not another 2142.

Another newcomer who hasn't played 1942.

1942 offered much more than BF2 ever did, and I mean, MUCH more. I could still play it, if DICE wouldn't have ruined it with patches, like BF2. Fh2 is the only way for bf2, but even that doesn't come even close to good old 1942, and Road to Rome days.

And the graphics aren't that good, and the game-engine is ****ed up in BF2. I want BF1942 times back, now it's just modern combat over and over, I'm getting tired of it.

you can't be joking...? with so many WW2-era FPS out there, the futuristic settings are just starting to become popular... wait maybe 3 years before people get bored of the future =P

Yep my BF "career" started with the second installment.(And I hated it at first and didn't play it for like 1-2 years after it's release)

I'm like many people sick of WWII era, enough games have been done on it like dontsh000t said.

I don't like the futuristic games, but modern ones like BF2 are fine.

the thing that makes it a great game is the freedom you have to pretend to be on missions that you create.

like tonight i might feel like being a covert operations special forces and be sneaky... muhaha

or i might feel like being top gun and fly planes like crazy

and its just about instant action, not like stupid world of warcraft where you spend more time running on trails and farting around in town then anything else..

hmm i think tonight ill be a sniper on some map ive not really explored yet..

Playing COD4 finally shows me just how fvcked up BF2 infantry combat is. In BF2s defense though, there are worse games out there (coughs, ETQW and FFOW, coughs).

Infinity Ward pulled something off that hasnt been pulled in almost 4 years.

A game called Global Operations that was released by EA/Crave/Barking Dog, alot of years ago, still is way ahead of some FPS's. Minus the vehicles, Global Ops was the first to support, reviving medic, a LSD(Life Sign detector),commander and a host of other things. EA dropped support on that game, and it was a really great title. I hope that the heads at EA take another look at that title, and try to form it into a BF type series.

BF2 was an ingenius scheme. I mean; how many people here went without sleep, just to hit that next rank or get another badge? Yes, I'm sure we all did.

Hell, I had alot of fun just playing with buddies, kicking back and having a good laugh. I never really cared about how realistic the game was. And, when everyone started getting annoyed with what was wrong with the game; a bunch of my buddies and I banded together and made Department Store Battles.

This game is just what you make it out to be.

Although I don't play bf2 anymore and have been playing mostly mods, I agree with the thread starter.

I already said that they ruined the feeling in patch 1.3 ->>

It feels, looks, and sounds completely different, in a better way. It's a shame you couldn't experience the best multiplayer shooter ever, it's a shame DICE has something against the community, and they ruin wonderful games via game updates.

They only listen to a small fraction of the community, some 11-year-old-kiddies who has the willing/time to whine on forums about little things. They ruin the game from most of us, which is a bit sad I think. I'd be still playing vanilla Battlefield 1942 if they wouldn't have ruined the game with those darn patches.

                          R.I.P Good ol' original Battlefield 1942 (1.0 - 1.2)

Heck, I'd still be playing vanilla Battlefield 2 too, if they wouldn't have ruined it via patches.

                          R.I.P original Battlefield 2 (1.0 - 1.03)

Nope, it was 1.03 patch, which introduced Wake Island 2007. Too bad that already 1.03 FUBAR'd the sounds in BF2. Wasn't much of a long experience.
