The main thing is about the numbers is that most people can't play Crysis...but those that can the majority of those that have played it including myself can see that Crysis is the better game, COD4 is too wild of a game...I look at whats available with Crysis and COD4...then I look at the install size on my computer and see that any game that offers so little and takes up so much space(over 6gigs) isn't no where near as good as Crysis that offers so much more with only (over 2gigs) of space. Writing is on the wall and it says Crysis FTW. Sorry.

This question is meaningless unless asked in a neutral forum, and even then, it's far too subjective. This is a COD forum, so of course most people will say COD. I'd expect people to say Crysis is better on the Crysis forums as well.
From both a total sales perspective and gaming-hrs per user, however, it's hard to dispute that COD4 takes both hands-down. COD4 will make far more money, and have more longevity in MP as well.
Like FarCry, Crysis will probably benefit from a small bump in sales a year or two down the road when more PC's can run it properly.Comment

COD4 for MP
Guess which game was built for which player mode? Thats right. And anyone even suggesting that Crysis was made as a mainstream game (much like COD4 and HALO3 were, for example), needs to get their opinion examined. Crysis is much like an "experiment", a niche branch. Expecting the game to sell millions when we know that the average gamers rig would play it merely on LOW/MEDIUM, would be foolish. It beats COD4 singleplayer down into the mud with its creative freedom, absolutely no counterarguments there. COD4 is so scripted that replay value of SP is under serious question, however, its replay value comes from excellent MP, and in MP that game really shines. Beats the infantry games market by a long stretch.
Saying Crysis is a failure, based on X-fire hours is a statement backed by lack of any facts or reason. Just to tell you how accurate X-fire stats really are: Half Life 1 and its mods (CS1.6) are the most popular PC FPS games ever, beating COD4 by 5X of player number (OMGZ FAIL??????!!1), yet its not even in the charts.
I believe modders can give you a better idea of how great Crysis Editor is. And since it was delivered early with the Demo, it further attests to the fact that Crysis is a stepping stone, a gamer community experiment, something that pushes the envelope.
To give you an idea why Crysis was not meant as a MP game, just look at vehicle setup (keys and such), they are bad. vehicle balance relation is even worse. Theres no thought put into MP, at all.Comment

I have played both and can run both with full settings.
But in my most humble of opinions, I think that COD4 is a much more fun game, and evidently many, many other people think so.
Crysis has it's good features undoubtedly, but it was massively over-hyped.Comment

all i know is that i've been to the total cysis forum (and feel free to visit them yourself) and the max people i've seen on there is 12 people. and yes i know that has nothing to do with the comparison of the games but it just shows how much more popular cod4 is. and crysis was VERY over hyped. and with my rig, which is a very decent PC, i just don't understand why people should have to replace their whole PC just for a game that should have been released with an engine that could run at least on a high 7 series card on medium. i plan on starting the same thread in the crysis forums just to be fair so check up and see what the replies and the reasons are if any of you are interested. and i appreciate everyones opinions and i hope no matter what game you like more you have fun with it, because that's what's it's all about. i was just really dissapointed in the hype and the outcome of crysis and it's preformance. hopefully it will improve in the future. but it's no excuse for what EA does and continues to do to all the people that keep coming back for more (myself included) and hopefully they will fix alot of the problems that they have in their development department.Comment

i agree that cysis is ahead of it's time, but it does the gamers NOW, no good. and crysis isn't crap, it just hasn't lived up to the hype. oh and i posted the same exact thread in the total crysis forum and these are the responses so far
