Top 5 new player mistakes?

Hi folks, I'm new to the game quickly noticed that this is a complicated game with a high learning curve. While I look forward to the challenge, I can tell that there are lots of mistakes that can be made.

So I'm curious, what are the top 5 mistakes that new players make, and if you want to add, what are the top 5 tips you would give a new player?

trow a frag with left click but just not hard enough. i suicide more.
stand stil in the open.
unlock the voss(my opinion)
run in cover(use run in the open/run for frags)
spray and pray. some wapons can do it(voss) but can be outgunnend(baur/ krylov/scar)

Choosing lots of assault unlocks before choosing nades and sprint, and then realising that even with the aromatic lure of freshly baked pies at toll station, you still can't get your chubby *** over there fast enough without getting nailed from every which way because your blubber is so overwhelmingly vast that an APC couldn't hide your bulk.

1. standing in the open and firing at anything that moves.

2. not using crouch

3. firing the aa gun at armor

4. not looking in all directions

5. leaving vehicles all over the map for the enemy to use

1. Shooting at Armour with guns and rockets....

4. Base raping uncapable flags
5. Not reviving someone who has just died next to you
6. Fighting while being commander


Tips
1. Always use the HUD
2. Shoot gun in quick bursts
3. Crouch and shoot for better accuracy
4. Use objects to hide behind and shoot
5. and the most important.... TEAMWORK!

Edit: Also the most annoying... spamming the titan shield with the titan gun! DONT DO IT!!!

Check out the stupid teammates thread for more, but I'd say, in no particular order:
- Bailing out of transport pilot seat and letting it crash: Kills passengers and people who spawn as transport is in fatal dive.
- Getting enemy's attention for no good reason by firing MG's at armor or transport door guns at titan: Gets you and your crew-mates killed
- Ignoring mini-map: Causes you to miss bad guys, run away from flags that need to be capped or defended, or other situational awareness errors
- Open up full auto on everyone while standing up
- Ignoring team-mates and squad-mates while trying to be a point whoring loner.

Tips:
- Use your mini-map!!!
- Join a squad and follow your leader like his shadow
- Crouch & burst
- Look all around from cover, sprint to cover, do it again- Situational awareness is key
- Use your mini-map.

2. Spraying gun off the hip

i totally agree unless it's a machine gun, it adds accuracy as you fire in full auto.

about the unlocks:
the gernades and sprints first, then get the rockets for assualt, and always revive

I've actually done this a few times and I've got this to say about it:

The only time this action is excusable is when you're doing it to draw attention away from the guy behind the tank/walker with the Pilum.

My top 5:
1. Lack of situational awareness
2. Randomly running into the open
3. Not knowing how to use the walker properly (Left Ctrl to crouch, hold shift to run, X for Active Defense).
4. Firing AA Gun at Armor
5. Bailing out of a transport

My Top 5 Tips:
1. Work together
2. Keep an eye on that minimap! It could save your life
3. Crouch when firing
4. Use cover
5. Make sure you know what's going on around you!

The default crouch key for the walker is Z. Which IMO is stupid, it should be the usually crouch key: Ctrl
