Well, I see what you mean. I just disagree :)

And hey, I've been sniping in online FPS's since I was 10 :)

LOL @ using age to make yourself sound correct... go vote for Bush again and get drunk legally, that's all you've got over him. Perhaps being 26 you'd have better grammar, but the world's not made of miracles.

When people say choppers are easy for a sniper to take down, they are, but:
      a) Firing gives away your position.
      b) RPGs leave a trail back to you as well.
      c) Unless you have bandolier, taking down a chopper will require all of your ammo.
      d) Bolt action lack the rate of fire to effectively combat choppers, and the ammo issue is greater.
      e) Pistols lack the power to kill choppers, don't even say that. I know someone out there was thinking it.
      f) Leaving it up to your team isn't always possible. Sometimes they can't kill it for whatever reason, or don't care. It's a negligible factor.
      g) Run for cover, lol... once you're in cover you can't look out or you'll get shot through the windows. You become useless to your team. You might as well die so you can respawn with an LMG.
      h) Run for cover, part duex, get see running, followed, then mowed down by an SMG while cowering in a building.

EDIT: Besides, it's not just snipers. Just about anyone without an LMG who's outside will get owned by it. Choppers just make the winning team do better. Like in a game of football, where the winning team only has to go 75 yards rather than 100. How is that fun?

          Excellent counter lmao.

My personal opinion is a mixed one. The side of me that uses a helicopter wants it to be able to hit people with UAV jammer but the sniper side of me thinks that it would be a good game mechanic and add more value to UAV jammer if it could make you immune to choppers in some instances.

I think it would be excessive to have you a UAV jammer and have you immune to them, maybe as suggested make it so if you have UAV jammer and are not firing then make it so chopper wont shoot you.

Other than that and in reality I think this is just nit picking, I do not have problems with the chopper either way.

I agree, and I play very similar to you except I'm less stagnant and I carry an M4A1 [SD].

What works for me is when I hear the chopper and if I'm not in cover, I toss a smoke grenade at my feet, and the chopper never hits me.

^^ Hmm, I'll try that (Seeing as I carry smoke). Hopefully the enemy won't pay much attention to it. Good idea :)

The only thing about changing that would be an overcomplicated nightmare...

When to fire... why to fire... can the helo see you or not? It'll never be perfect, and it will always have bugs.

It's really a "small" issue anyway, so it probably won't be fixed.

It is kinda lame though when you're completeley hidden, and you get killed by the helo, or when you're in a building....

Well, blame yourself or your team. The enemy can`t call in a chopper for doing nothing.

Yes, it does bring back the 'good old days' somewhat. Although sitting at my desk, drinking a beer, playing a game is very, very different. Yet, pretty cool.

I went to a Divisional Scout/Sniper school for long range recon patrol training and the ghillie suit brings back lots of memories... a couple of my best friends in the Army were snipers, too. I was tasked with supporting fire and demolitions most often... Lot's of rounds fired and random stuff blown to bits. :yay:

Aerialz, that is what happens when people converse, my friend. Nothing against your posts! I'm of two minds about the kills streak perks. It is fun to be the one getting them, but it sucks to be on the receiving end. :dead:

I assume that these can be disabled for custom games and I look forward to playing more Hardcore mode without the 'arcade-like' gaming features enabled. But, vanilla CoD4 is still very fun! Perhaps the slight tweak you've all discussed in raising the kill streak to 4/6/10 instead of 3/5/7.

^^ No no, I'm fine with people debating and such. In fact, I enjoy debates.

Sometimes people just add in artificial examples and reasonings which detract from the true point of my posts - that was all

I've noticed all the times a chopper was over my head and I was in a ghillie suit, I wasn't killed. I just stayed prone, didn't move, and didn't fire.

^^ I do the same but still get shot.

BTW, it's much easier to survive a helo in regular than hardcore. I'm describing my experiences in hardcore.

Hmmm , I guess you haven't encountered sarcasm or dark humor before in your dictionary... but that's ok, you have plenty of time in front of you... ( <=- ATTENTION , SACRCASM DETECTED AGAIN, maybe this way you'll understand ).

                            1) English is not my first language so yeah, I'll "accept" the grammar issues I have, BUT only when you'll also master 4-5 other languages like I DO!

                            2) Not being american, I obviously DID NOT voted for Bush and I don't think there's another person on this planet right now that I hate more... actually I don't hate him, but that's another story.

                            3) I don't drink alcohol for more than 7 years now, personal problem. Will gladly explain in private.

And 4) WITH THE RISK OF REPEATING myself .... CONSIDERING THE LIFE EXPECTANCY IN THIS GAME, you want to live "forever" as a sniper and kill everyone?!?!? I'd take it personally and just tell you that kids nowadays watch toooooooo many movies with "ghost" snipers, but I won't. ( SARCASM DETECTED AGAIN, just making sure ... :P )

Let me rephrase, ANY WEAPON YOU USE IN THIS GAME, IN ANY MODE, Search and Destroy or whichever, ANY WEAPON, you live not longer than a couple of seconds, a couple of minutes if you're good, and you're telling me you want to hide in bushes and kill people without being detected nor killed by a chopper?! That'd be like having wet dreams about having sex with a super-model!! I rofled ... and I still do ... You're funny.

P.S.: Telling me to go vote for Bush again or get drunk legally just proves your level of maturity.:shakehead

That's the spirit. I find airstrikes on the spawn area at the start of the round far more annoying than a heli.
