    3) Now imagine a bigger blast radius but it requires atleast 20meter distance to explode... nice huh? everything would be good then, and grenade launcher would require some actual skill to use while also being realistic.
    You've contradicted yourself again.
If they changed the detonation distance to 20m then how could you blow yourself up in a close encounter when the blast radius is 15m?

Lol, I use the nadelauncher right in the beginning of the round when I spam the enemy spawn, gets me a few good kills. Like in BF2, I`m bloody good with it and I will keep using it.
      M4/M16 with m203 + stopping power + steady aim= uber pwnage.
Pegging people with them is even more fun which I think is a bit bs, but I don`t care.

      Learn to avoid it.

Way to avoid the point there?

I made clear what would happen if it was made more realistic, nobody cares that only 1 of the 2 sollutions would be REQUIRED to solve the problem, I mentioned them BOTH because both would and should be added as it'd make sense having a bigger blast radius when the launcher requires further range.

You asked and you were told - get over it.

Only reason the launcher is so "toy'ish" as it is atm, is because all the maps are the size of a dumpster, so making it work realisticly would render it almost useless on most maps.

If they're gonna add realism to one part, they better damn well add it to the followup part aswell !

They can't on 1 hand have a launcher that shoots exploding grenades at just 5-7meters distance and then on the other make it so it instant kills you if ur up close and get no detonation.

Pick one OR the other and I'd be more than happy ..

They made it the worst combination possible, and that's why it's so abused and thats why we have soldiers in a somewhat realistic game.. crawling around inside buildings unrealisticly having a GRENADE LAUNCHER loaded rather than a rifle.

          <Great point.

I never use Gl, I know it's realy good, but I can't stand not having bandolier perk, I don't waste mmo, but my shots count, meaning I need lots of ammo to get lots of kills.

How can i respond to a completely self contradictory point? Number 3 on your list combined 1 and 2, suggesting it wasn't a "one or the other" type idea.

Back on subject, i'm fine with increasing the detonation range, i dont use the grenade launcher so making it less effective is fine by me. However, i think that increasing the blast radius to a realistic level is rediculous, if you did that should you do the same for normal HE grenades too? The amount of people whining on servers would increase tenfold if you were able to fire a grenade that took out all the enemies at one end of a street, or cleared a building for you. It would just ruin the balance, which i think is very good at the moment.
I also am a bit confused at you saying that if the GL had a larger blast radius it would need more skill. How can something you can miss your enemy with by 15m and still get a kill, take more skill than having to get it within the current 3or4m radius? People already come on here whining about GL spamming in the first 5 seconds of a round, do you not think that would be so much worse if there was a larger blast radius?

Some people actually play the game with friendly fire -ON-

I know that sadly most people prefer candyfloss gaming.

              PS.
I never said make the game realistic... I said it's stupid that you have to die from a direct non-detonation grenade hit, because it's "realistic" when you at the sametime can fire grenades that explode 5 meters away and kill the enemy but not you.

              pick one or the other.

don't try to put words in my mouth and say I'm arguing that the whole game should be remade to a more realistic model - I'm talking about GL here, which is what the thread is about.

Yea, prefer to play friendly fire on too. Now you've pointed that out there is another reason we shouldn't he having a large blast radius. There will always be slightly less good players that will fire it close to team mates. One of the reasons COD4 is so good in my opinion is because of the hardcore mode so it's less "arcadey".
My point on the normal grenades was to illustrate how once you change one thing it never stops. If they did what you want to the GL (bigger radius etc..) tomorrow, then there would be an army of people on here saying that they want the hand grenades to be as powerful as in real life, that they want the claymores the same too. It would never stop. Then we'd end up with a game dominated by explosives, which for me is not what it's about.
Could you please stop trying to patronise me, it's getting a bit irritating.

I have to agree with Rob on this one. By increasing the blast radius all your going to is increase the number of people like Sheepdog who come here to whine . Firstly, you will get the people who complain it is too powerful, and they keep getting team kills,

Secondly, you will get the people who say it is unbalanced, and then IW have to edit every other weapon

Thirdly, you get the people who then complain that it is too easy to kill with the GL. By increasing blast radius, all that happens is that people fire from miles away, miss, but still get a kill instead of firing around a corner into someone's face.

I believe the way to roll is like how someone suggested above. The GL should only stay as the current weapon for 5 secs before it defaults back to your rifle. Whilst, not very realistic, it does cure the problem is nubbery tubing.

I think that's spot on, the "5 second rule" would stop people just walking around with GL selected. But then again, i'm not really for tampering with the game too much.
                    What does everyone else think?

Forced ironsights and slower movement for GL would be better than the 5 second thingy imo.

By that time most of the grenade launcher kids have used up their 2 nades and are now sitting in a corner waiting instead.

But imo it's still sad that they made the grenade launcher work so effectively.

And don't say it's not effective when you have so many abusing em ingame :)
With he Overkill perk, you can carry 2 assault rifles each with a nade launcher which gives you 4 grenades.

OMG, just got off this server, this noob called "Freddy" would just use M203, he only used that, I couldn't believe it!

All in all I decided to take my distance (after he killed me 9 times with M203)

I decided there was nothing to do about it, even after trying to kick him 7 times.

So I sniped...the living **** out him...and all was well, I suggest complainers on maps like Overgrown should snipe, but I don't see how you can avoid M203ers on other maps.

Seriously, tried to kick him, for what? cause of his play style?
Just deal and find a way to counter noobtubers or find a new server.
