My entire concept of teamwork? That's right it's wrapped up in a little box to labeled by you. I do believe that there is a concept of working together outside of how many tickets you gain, so what?

    Haven't we been over this?

I was being ironic, it either got lost in forum speak or somewhere between your eyes and your brain.

You could write anything you wanted and conversely so could I, what's the point?

There are more people in a team, than that crappy gunner who always wants to take up a valuable asset.

Who is more team oriented? The guy trying to take out enemy helicopters and armor, or the guy who just wants a tour of Oman at the expense of his co-pilot.

Note the word "work". Work for common goal. If you lable a squad of 6 guys just running together having genuine laughs as they go around just having fun being of no use to the team and not really doing anything in cooperation then technically, they are not part of the team and not doing teamwork.

Youre mistaking teamspirit and teamwork through the whole debate, one is an abstract, vague concept the other is clearly defined and is focused on the result.

And teamwork is a choice made by a person, not by the vehicle he uses.

I'm fully aware of the definition of 'team spirit' and 'teamwork', I'm not confusing anything thanks, I see your, and Sloi's point, and I also see mine, personally I think you're both wrong. As to say one is abstract and the other is defined is wrong, they are all nouns.

Re: Is a soloer a teamplayer?

No, an attack chopper is meant to be equipped with 2 (!) ppl. a TEAM of pilot and gunner.
The soloer will leave the potential gunner on the airfield or even redline him. That's Teamkilling and TeamKILLING is not TeamWORK. quite easy to understand.

On the other hand you will find pilots that can pwn soloing and be a better help than as a pilot with a bad gunner. But it's still no reason to go solo.
Only reason I can think of that legalizes soloing: There is no gunner available. No need to wait five minutes until you get a gunner (thing that rarely happens).

So in the end I say that soloing is NOT TEAMWORK.

To get this right I edit: again a great soloer might be more useful to his team when flying solo than with a bad gunner. Thus, to win the round it might be better to have him fly solo. BUT to win the round it is also more useful to baserape, spawnkill, artying the carrier/airfield, attacking uncap etc. Not talking about hacks that would help to win the round, lol.

Teamwork is not only to accomplish the same goal like the rest of the team, but to help them out. So, if someone needs a transport, pick him up, if someone needs ammo, give him, if someone needs health, give him. If someone wants to be gunner, let him in.

I've seen so many pwnererz that have a great k/d at the end of the round because they were ruling the skies with choppers/jets, or in a tank, or as infantry but still loosing the round. It's not a question of how much ONE person pwns, but how good the team works. So the soloer might be better alone, but his team can still loose. Teamwork affects ALL players on the team.
There is nothing like ONE TEAMPLAYER. There are only teamplayerS!

Flying Solo in a Bomber Jet is not teamwork.

Driving Solo in a Tank is not teamwork.

I think they're certainly less popular. Apart from the jet can you stop people getting into the tank or 'red line' them?

Clearly youve never seen people griefing over losing a tank? C4? Landmines? Oh its all there, just the "different kind", the kind you conveniently ignore.

I'd say, solo in a tank is more or less OK because as driver you don't need to switch seats to use the machinegun.

Solo in a 2seated bomber? When someone wants to be co-pilot? Not teamwork letting the guy alone useless on the airfield!

Who will C4/mine the own tank just to NOT HAVE a guy at the machine gun???

Some ppl really seem to suck so much as infantry that they desperately need a tank :shakehead: Go back in the bunker and play cards with the commander.

So youre the expert in saying which form of asshattery is OK and which form isnt, and which constitutes as teamwork and which isnt? Another poor fellow stating his opinions as facts?

You DO need a tanks 50 cal MG to reach the choppers. But drivers RARELY stop to pick someone up. Thats the whole point.

And people would rather kill the tank and his teammate with it, than not to drive the tank for the round, equal terms in asshattery.

Lets have a look at the other get you have

Teamwork is not only to accomplish the same goal like the rest of the team, but to help them out. So, if someone needs a transport, pick him up, if someone needs ammo, give him, if someone needs health, give him. If someone wants to be gunner, let him in.
So how exactly does, picking up a gunner who hinders your input into team effort, help the team? I can see offering transport, helping to save a ticket and spare ammo as ones micro level objective to sustain combat effectiveness of the team to reach the goal, but how does turning a chopper into a taxi make the pilot a "team player" if hes not playing for the "team" per se, but for the guy who doesnt give a flying ****?

Oh and yes, I do suck as infantry, which is why you dont see me teaching you how to play your game.

It helps because you don't leave a valuable soldier standin on a void carrier deck! Besides you don't act like an egoist. So you can kill better alone? Play single player ffs! Redliningteamkilling for soloing drops a ticket on YOUR team, where's the teamwork in that?

Never said to use the chopper as a taxi, please read posts. Using it as taxi would be a nice move (more the teamspirit thing) and besides, you'll never know if the guy you let in the gunner seat is a good one or will just bail out above some flag.

Check any tank used nowadays. They have a mounted 12.7mm machine gun specializing for anti air. Also, tanks in real world can attack low flying aircraft such as helicopters. While BF2 is far from real life, all you need is skill, and youre a formidable anti helicopter railcannon on tracks.

No, you just single out soloers, put them into the same basket and ignore that every vehicle in BF2 has a potential to be used in a way that it would not benefit your views as a teamplayer. Get real.

Since when do we put redlining and soloing under the same definition? And Id rather have one ticket spent in exchange of dozens tickets spent on enemy side, than one ticket spared, then 2 tickets wasted and none of the enemy tickets taken. But youre not giving out opinions, youre throwing around blatant claims that you cant back up. Youre giving out your opinion as a fact and if you do look for arguments to back your claim up its usually a crudely generalised, subjective opinion (again) that comes from inexperience. Like you put redliners and soloers into one group.
