You dont see me giving advice on infantry play, or how things "should be". The moment I see someone give a more throughal line of words of infantry play, I recognise it being superior to my little experience and learn from it. Many people cant do that.

Its not that Sloi is at some TOP, he has VAST luggage of experience in the area that you simply cant match. And he has done it all. Hes been gunning WITH someone, flying FOR someone, solo flying FFARs and now solo flying generally. Hes also done a lot of research and his sh!t is posted all over the web. If you cant aknowledge THAT, and still try to come off as someone with superior knowledge than his, even though thats not true, you deserve to be belittled.
... Well, it was to see how Sloi answered it, but Chris you walked into it yourself and Sloi kinda passed, which I did not expect. The answer is he has never flown a helicopter with an instructor let alone solo or he would have stated how many flight hours he has. I didn't read more than the quote but from that you have proven yourself to be in the 12% category by failing to properly acknowledge the question. In real life the answer would be easy, but by placing it in this forum the perspective is a little blurred since a role in the game bf2 alters it. You failed to acknowledge that and answered suggesting he has vast experience as a pilot.:salute:

Get off the PC, get out and get some experience in life and you'll realize that your perspective is not what you think it is. :salute:

His answer actually stated that he was faulted but could acknowledge others positive traits, and that even tho he may lack ability himself, he feels he has enough intellect to observe others and form an opinion of which of those was better at performing a task. We use a similar comment alot dealing with bands in our production company "I don't need to be able to play a guitar to make a judgment of whether or not you can" . Chris just proved he fits your article much, much more and thats even funnier.

Hold on, this actually makes little to no sense at all. Care to decypher it for me?

      You make no sense.

You said that Sloi belittles people, and asked if the study proves that hes the top pilot. Read my words- "Its not that Sloi is at some TOP...", which is a vague hint that hes very good, and that whatever the epitome, podium or "TOP ranking" is, it doesnt matter, what matters is a persons experience and ability and his comments based on that ability and experience, against peoples comments who have little to no ability or experience in that said area.

And I actually do think Sloi is in the top area of all BF2 pilots. But not because "he says he is", but because of his experience, his showcase of videos, his rather helpful research and work and his results in the game. Are you going to argue that? Its easier to place a good player at the top half of the bunch because the majority of BF2 pilots are less than mediocre.

Thanks for not reading the "whole quote", it shows just how much youre willing to try to understand before you respond. Thanks for pointing out "in which group" you belong to.

EDIT: And as I said, rephrase everything you just said, because it looks to me you were trying to be clever and try to confuse the game with real life, but it came off so retarded, that I didnt even get the general meaning of what you were trying to say, I tried, but I failed. I only got that insult at the end of your post and that question whether or not Sloi thinks hes good based on a study of ignorant people trying to be the experts.

As for the quitar comment, you can observe and compare, but you can never know the insides of the trade. Thats the point of that article aswell, one you fail to aknowledge.

        I'll type slow for you.

The belittling comment was based on his opinion that the other members was embarrassing himself, which is merely the opinion from HIS perspective.

Now for the funny part ....

Does reading the study further strengthen your view that you are a good helicopter pilot
I asked a simple question. He is not a helicopter pilot. However you assumed I was talking about if he is in the top % of players that assume the role of a pilot in a video game... Get that? he is a player, not a pilot. But you FAILED to realize the simplicity of the question in your quest to prove your intellect is what YOU think it is. Your opinion of yourself exceeds your actual abilities. Simple enough?

I am a partner in a production company and have been since 97, before that I was a floor manager for (@ the time 95-96)1 of the top 50 venues as rated by pollstar.
I have worked with over 100 national acts and countless regional/local bands. My 2 best friends are, by trade a Front of House Engineer and the other a Monitor engineer. I am familiar with all facets of concert PA, sound spectrum, and rigging. I took guitar lessons as a kid but realized I lacked the dexterity in my fingers to become proficient so I stopped playing. So yea, I may not have read all about it on the internet but I have the real life experience to base an opinion in that area. Thanks come again:shakehead

Thanks, I can understand better now. You left a lot of the retardness out and came off as the a-hole I initially thought you were to be.

The belittling comment was based on his opinion that the other members was embarrassing himself, which is merely the opinion from HIS perspective.
But the other member was embarassing himself accoording to the study. That was his point. Thats the studies point aswell. People with little experience and a lot of ignorance tend to arrogantly overestimate their abilities. Jimi represented that group of people and Sloi pointed it out. Jimi said that "he does not rape in the choppers but can easily identify the insides of the trade by observing it". The experience of Sloi says, that you cant. My experience says, that you cant. Reason for my personal claim is, that Ive changed my views on helicopter trade a lot of times. The study doesnt concern people who are mistaken or inexperienced in general, the study concerns people who are inexperiened and mistaken but arrogantly state their inexperience as a solid fact. For example, people who say a "chopper crew is better than a solo pilot", while they have little experience in the chopper and are basing their opinion on "what they think" instead of "what they know".

I asked a simple question. He is not a helicopter pilot. However you assumed I was talking about if he is in the top % of players that assume the role of a pilot in a video game... So you were trying to come up with some sarcastic trap about real life piloting and game piloting. You know why you came off retarded? Because this is a game forum, so unless specified, we are all "players" and a word "pilot" instantly means "BF2 pilot", which in these terms, can be regarded as "common sense". Your question wasnt "simple" per se, it was vague, misleading and pretty much didnt give away what you were thinking. It wasnt even subtle. So by the end of the day, you were laughing at your own joke, alone. I didnt fail at anything else than understanding that you meant "real life" pilots, but in your post, you never even hinted that you werent thinking of "real life" pilots. Im sure noone thought.

Recap. This is a game forum, a specific BF2 subforum, unless specified, in a game regarding topic, were talking about games terms. You failed to specify, so I used common sense. How can this be even remotely "funny"?

My suggestion, train your typing skills. I know its hard to phrase your thoughts accurately, but if youre typing "apples" and mean "catapult", something is wrong... and not on my end.

Keep trying for a save Chris, thats pride. You can defend yourself saying I tried to "trick" you but it was simplistic. You admit that the forum skewed your perspective of the question but that was pretty much the point of it. You may have knowledge from your vast research, but you lack the experience to give you wisdom. It's ok tho because you are young. You still fall into the 12% even tho you rate yourself much higher and you are a prime example of the study. I think you're ok and there's hope for ya.:yay:

Note, you "claim" that you were talking about "real life piloting". And think that people who didnt get your point, were people who overestimate their ability to comprehend written text over forums. This raises 2 points already adressed.

                  A) This forum is about a GAME, and all of the topics about flying Ive encountered here, have discussed the game piloting. Which is why if someone talks about the game, and mentions the word "pilot" in the context that suits the game, people can use common sense and their compehension skills to deduct that the person is talking about in game piloting. Your quote:

is in context of BF2 piloting, is adressing a specific side of that piloting, yet you claim to be talking about "real life piloting".

                  B) The study does not talk about people who have little experience in certain activities, or vaguely put- "things". The study talks about people who have little experience, yet pass their opinion based on their little or lack of experience, as a dependable one.

                  In short, youre

                  A) Including me into the group for the whole set of wrong reasons (I also admitted that I didnt have a clue what your mindless drivel was about so I asked for an explanation)

                  B) Tying to backpedal into the whole "it was a joke" thing.

                  Once again-

Which part of this quote even remotely indicates that youre not talking about BF2 piloting, in a BF2 pilots thread, in a BF2 forum, occupied by BF2 players, and when the statistical number of real life piloting regarding threads and posts is negligible?

I think neither of you will admit fault. And of course will continue to do so because you do not see the fault that exists in the conundrum you both continue to squabble over. This seemingly bitter exchange on 'who has the better argument/point/case/whatever' is a self-perpetuating fault which causes you both to become further embroiled in having the 'final say' or the 'winning word' - further consolidating and reaffirming the fault's strength.

A remedy for the fault gets harder to see the further you both try to take your arguments. I am unsure of the remedy, but my conceited view on the matter dictates that wisdom may have been to shut up and leave the topic to fester on its own, where the more oblivious participants continue to stay in this topic's conundrum - and remain in this petty, self-perpetuating fault.

Nothing implies anything other than the question. I asked if the article, which has nothing to do with the game, strengthens his view that he is a good helicopter pilot.

You "assumed" I was referring to him being a good player in a role of the video game this forum supports. You lack the experience in life to realize judgment is based on perspective.

I am in no way back peddling. I never mentioned the game but referred to his posting the article and his judgment of the other player. Life is tricky like that, that's why there's that age old saying about assuming.

I never said I meant it as a joke either, what happened after the post is what amused me. It was a purposeful question to measure intellectual abilities. Not to different from that of the study. My point was proven, but not by sloi. The question was not even asked of you, but you felt obligated to enlighten me because you far better understand life and have to lead us sheep or else we perish. You are not a professional, you lack life experience to be so judgmental of others intellects.

I gave you a search result link to thousands of posts that have the word "pilot" in it, for you to see what common sense around the word is, in this videogame forum. You did mention "soloing" in your very sentence. "Soloing", meaning, "flying a BF2 attack chopper" alone. So the context was clear, you were talking about videogame piloting. You can stop now.

Then, the multiple times I have explained you assumed. Just like you assumed you had knowledge when you posted this and got pwned...
Then the multiple times you ignored the question, ignored when I said in what context the word "pilot" is generally used around BF2 forums, and ignored whatever I said when I pointed out, that your post was in context with the videogame and not real life.

Now youre trying to tell me, that it was a joke? Yeah right, nice "pwnage" there.
