Jet HUD question

Hi,

I've got a little question, when you get into a jet, a circle in the hud of a jet appears, moves in some random direction and then disappears.

Can anyone please tell me what it is? and what purpose does it serve?

It has something to do with hovering, cant exactly remember what though.

Circle appears when you have hovered on a spot for a second, ths helping you to navigate so you would stay above that spot.

The circle only appears in aircraft that can hover, such as the F-35B and all helis. I think you can interpret the circle as if it is a spot on the ground and you are looking down at it. So, for example, if your aircraft is drifting forward, the spot will move down toward the bottom of your screen.

True. I just discovered recently that the white infantry spotted by our commander is the enemy commander.

Yeah like they said I think it's for hovering, but u don't really need it.
