When Quake Wars comes out, I already play the demo religiously.

Re: When are you leaving BF2?

Bf2 is not installed at this time but i play 2142 form time to time.

The release of the Fortress Forever mod for HalfLife 2 has me hooked on the TFC style of play again.

Some time this weekend BF2 will get re-installed just for the mods.

October 10th is coming which brings me my long awaited Team Fortress 2
and that will realy limit the time spent on BF2 for me.

I can see the mods keeping me around for BF2 for some time so I can not say when ill be gone for good.

          I :salute: The TBF2 community.

          Thanks to all.

Re: When are you leaving BF2?

Some [WS] members are dry humping the door waiting for TeamFortress 2 to come out.

I played it a little and it could possibly be the perfect void to fill what BF2 was to me.

            Will there be a totalTF2?

Re: When are you leaving BF2?

I've noticed that most of they guys getting frustrated with BF2 seem to only play IO Karkand. Hell, if I played Karkand 24/7 I'd get bored too.

There are many other maps out there. If you want good infantry combat, play Great Wall - much better than Karkand IMO.

Well i stopped playing ranked a long time ago...i have kinda dropped on mods recently as i have been playing red orchestra (a gamer with decent players) and other games, BF2 is just blah....but then again with FH2 and other mods on the horizon i think i will e around for a while before i upgrade.

Granted, this is a beta, but how the hell does one game (in fact, it's only one part of the game) contain so many bugs? I shall list them.

Firstly i start up the game, i have an 8800gts, i'll select very high graphics! But wait, i can't change the resolution, it's stuck at 1280x960 (my screen max is 1280x1024). I can change it so it shows 1280x1024, but i can't press the "accept" button, oh no, that button does nothing, same with the back button. So, now i have to press escape, and thus, the resolution remains at 1280x960.

Oh well, i'll change some of the other graphics, at least they stick when i press escape. So, i click one option near the bottom of the screen, and use the arrow key to turn the option up. But wait, it's not moving. The selected option won't move, but the option at the top of the page does! Brilliant!
So eventually, i manage to select some graphics on high.
Now, sound, i have an X-fi XtremeMusic, high right? No! The accept and back buttons don't work, so it sticks to low!

Okay, i'll make an account. So i fill in the form, unticking the "send me more info" box, oops, i spelt my email wrong, so i change it and accept. But, good god, the tickbox has automatically ticked itself again, awesome!

meh, i'll just block their address. Lets play! So i join 1 of only 2 European servers in the world (The Crysis beta has more empty european servers than FFOW servers in total!). Game loads, to what is awful graphics (is that just this crap game, or the awesome graphics menu not working again?
Ah, maybe the gameplay will make up for it. Nope, game crashes at deploying and won't budge, so no game!

Anyway, now uninstalled, it's even worse than you would expect from a alpha release

So, to sum FFOW up in one word, i would have to choose: crap.
                  Good going THQ!

Re: When are you leaving BF2?

Alex, its called a beta for a reason, with no optimization or anything so yer one would think it sucks. It still has about 100 days to release so how can you judge it so early...i personally am going to buy it just for the modding platform.

Re: When are you leaving BF2?

I know it's beta, but I should at least be allowed to play or change graphics settings, the "accept" and "back" buttons don't even work!

I would expect alpha releases to be better!

Is the Orange box any good? I'm thinking of pre-ordering (can't wait to play the half-life singleplayer too). At least my graphics card can handle it.

Too bad about FFOW, hopefully they'll fix it by release.

I tried the ET:QW demo, it's a great game, been playing it a lot lately. :ar15:

So with 2142 laying next to my keyboard, and Frontlines:Fuel of War coming out, I think I'm done with BF2. Since the game is 2+ years old, and most of you are "battle-hardened vets", when do you guys plan on leaving, if you haven't already?

                            Farewell, trusty SVD whoring.

but i dont plan to leave bf2, im lookin to go to some mod if i can find one i like. i got POE2 last night, if i can just get time to try it.

extremely hard to keep a decent k/d when u feel alone on the server.:salute:

Sounds to me like you got owned while having a crappy round. Happens to alot of people, especially if you were playing Strike at Krapland for a bunch of hours in a row.

If you want to quit thats fine, there are still plenty of other noobs to own.
