After reading a great many threads where people say Bf2 is the worst..
Re: After reading a great many threads where people say Bf2 is the worst..
Personally, the fact that I spent $28 on this game and $12 on SF and have played for combined 600+ hours is wonderful to me.
Name some other game where you can plop down $50 and get that many hours of entertainment. Most games (especially on consoles) are close to 15-20 hours to complete. Some RPGs can top out at 100 hours or so depending on the depth and extra (non-essential) quests.
This game, despite any flaws or lack of support, is worth every ****ing penny. There are only a select few games that offer so much game time for the cost. Sadly though, most of the games that come to mind are EA games (i.e. Madden, The Sims). However, there are some other games like Oblivion (or the old school Diablo 2) that last for hundreds of hours, offer multiple replays, and virtually endless entertainment.

Oh, so true. I often equate value to how much a movie ticket/video rental costs. I bought BF2 full price, EF, AF, and SF all full price at release. And I know that I have met my return on investment. And even on a flip note, I dropped a good chunk of change on my PC just for BF2...when my previous box was still good enough for ripping, movies and internet. So when you combine the two, I still find it cheaper then going to Vegas or even taking a date out to the Cheesecake Factory.
Re: After reading a great many threads where people say Bf2 is the worst..
What killed BF2 are stats and stat obsessed whiny kids that DICE listened to.
I definatly agree with the second part. But I believe the ranks and awards start the biggest problems. Stats are stats; but when you make people get loads of points for GUNS and AWARDS then you encourage (in some people) less favorable behavior.
And even that isn't a bad thing; something to work for; acheivement for time put in. Its just that human nature is an odd thing to say the lease.
And mostly everyone has let the stats and awards guide their in-game responses at least once.

Both are correct, but feces is more correct for the chiefly Canadian and American reader on these web-boards, because it is the word that is used primarily by both countries. Only the United Kingdom still uses Faeces.
So I'm going to make a safe bet that you're British.

I view cheaters and hackers as a way to prevent my growth of skill from making the game to easy.
The battlefield series is in a class all it's own and if you think about it, the games out there that try to generate the same freeform battlefield feeling that EA has made...dont come close I hope someone emulates what EA has done because if they don't then our children will not experience this type of gameplay.
