where was that posted? evenbalance doesn't have its own forum anymore. I was a member of the original evenbalance forums when PB first came out, but because there was so many complaints, they decided to remove the forums rather than try to help people or answer public questions. :|:

It doesn't seem like you can see more on the sides, just seems to be zoomed out. Look at the Hotel building, in the top it's much larger than in the bottom picture.

I read it on the forums of the widescreengamingforums.com.

I also tried it for a few rounds on a PB server, did not get banned.

But I do question the usefullness of it. It *does* zoom you out, so while yes you do get more of your surroundings in one view, the same is also smaller. Meaning you get less pixels to aim at if we want to get technical at it :). Hud does not scale and zoom on weapons is kinda weird.

Dude, I'm really itching to use some of the other ratios this offers, but I don't have 3x LCDs so no playing with 16:4.

Yes but in the "widescreen" pic, you can see the extra concrete barrier on the left, the burning car behind it, all the way to the rust colored building. On the right you can see an extra 2-3 feet on the sidewalk from the bottom corner of the tubes. So technically if a prone PKM guy was laying there in the first pic you would be dead, with the aspect of the second photo you have a larger field of view, with the chance to spot him and bunny hop away to lob grenades, it does seem to set the camera back, but would be worth getting used to.:yay:

Well I don't usually look in a straight line when I'm moving, that's just not smart :P.

Also I noticed that when using the target line trick to make your game widescreen it actually zooms in. Hmm... what would I like better, more screen with smaller things, or less screen with bigger things.

I believe he is referring to modifying the startup icon target. Right-click your BF2 start icon, then select "Properties", then select "Shortcut" tab, then in the "Target" box you can enter your screen resolution.

For instance, this is mine -
                          "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 2560 +szy 1600

                          I have a Dell 3007 30" and I run it at max resolution: 2560 x 1600

It's a program to change a res, PB shouldn't have no part in this at all. None, if you do get banned (which you wont) e-mail PB and EA, and I'm sure they can get you a new key. This is for a screen res change, why would PB care?

                              BF2 does not support WS.

                                gamehack 89105

I tried to ask them what 89105 was for and they said:

"I'm sorry, but that's not information we divulge. Get rid of all hacks and unauthorized 3rd-party tools when playing on PB-enabled servers."

So I deleted the widescreen files and no more kicks.

You have to actually delete the files because PB scans your harddrive. I didn't even have it running when i got kicked. I didn't like it anyway, it seemed like it was just a zoom out script. Made things harder to see for me.
