quick question about these types of modes like PR for example...once you use it - can you go back to VBF2 easily or do you have to go through alot of Uninstalling etc.?

Well, it works just like SF. you can choose to play Vanilla or PR. But when you want to switch you will have to close the version you played before.

You won'T have to uninstall anything to play the mods.
There is a tool/program called "Modjive" (download here: http://modjive.com )
You can select the mods you want to play and even start them from there.
Modjive also handles updates and patches for the mods.

So don't worry when installing the mods. You probably won't have a problem.

@Goggy: I know the presented stats are not that complete but an example on how the PR-stats work.

It was helpful, does playing PR affect vanilla BF2 at all? (when I say vanilla, I mean official expansions like AF/SF & NS + BF2 itself)

i'm amazed that a thread has reached 6 pages when the first response pretty much summed it up.

I think that headshots should be instant kills, torso shots on classes with armour should be damage, any other location should be pretty much death.

headshots are instant kills.
what are you saying? its more likely to be able to withstand a chest shot than one to the arm? like woteva!

what are you saying? its more likely to be able to withstand a chest shot than one to the arm? like woteva!

i think he means to say that a shot to the arm can be "immobilizing" ie. you have no arm - you cant shoot = a useless soldier on the battle field...

of course im not saying a shot to the chest wouldnt make you a useless soldier :P

When you play PR, you shouldn't even worry about stats/ranks because ranking isn't even supported for BF2 mods, except of course, ABR...

VBF2 = Vanilla Battlefield 2

PR = project reality (mod) - yes it is the one with 1 kill sniper as far as i know

BFR = i think he means BFPR

or BFR...he could be talking about Battlefield Recorder :P

Actually I made a mistake, I meant ABR, Alternative Battlefield 2 Ranking. It's a server side mod for servers to have ranked mod servers.
