I've been turned off with sniping lately cause of the hitboxes and inaccurate rifles. My favorite kit, but I miss way more than I should. (in 2142 I usually get 1-2 infiltrator medals, which is for 8 headshots in a round. In BF2 I'm lucky if I can even hit the chest at long range

It does have fun moments, like sniping someone in a jet who is heading directly for you, making it an easy cockpit shot. A good place other than wake is to use the M95 in Dragon Valley, near the US carrier

Well, the only way a sniper can shoot you out of the jet is if he is using an m95, and the m95 makes a really loud sound when it fires,which easily gives away its position to other snipers or infantry.

Unlike the m95 the L96A1 doesnt make such a loud noise..it may be hearable but it would be hard to find where the sniper is.

I hate unlocks, although I have em. Defaults looks and sound much more badass, and killing with them is that much better. Also somewhat takes the piss out of the guy you killed, He did just die by a s*itty default.

Dont really understand why snipers are so despised.

Snipers are hated because of the chaos they sew, think about it, when u come up against a sniper at range (u r not a sniper) ...you cant do jack, he hes the power , if you try to shoot...you have to stand still 2 have a chance AND be prone which makes u an eays target, you have act completely differently to combat a sniper than a normal infantry soldier.

and at uncaps (my turf) the sniper sews total frustration, players WANT there jet but with a sniper targeting them they r forced to bunnyhop, and a sniper that is a master at shooting THROUGH the bushes(this way u can shoot through gaps in the bushes leaves so u can see him but he cant c u) is almost impossible to find and is even STILL difficult when a commander spots him out.

Players dont regaurd the sniepr as a "real" soldier they see it as something that just pisses them off.....that y I play it.

Because I have played the sniper kit almost all my time on Bf2 I will obviously say its a weapon most effective in bf2 because of the way i can use it, It doesnt matter who is standing in front of me be it a rpk ak g3 whatever, if you go prone you get killed simple as that.

Now i would say 40% of all snipers on the battlefield are an asset to the team and the 60% are complete tards that spam clays which gives the minority a bad name, I allways go sniper but if i see a friendly down who is a medic i will without thinking pick his kit up revive him and spam follow me 5 times and pick up a dif kit so he can have his back and i get my sniper back.
Its things like this what make you a good player aswell as spotting troops and everything else you need to do to help out, If people have played with me they know im not the sniper who hides and shoots i am a noob bunnyhopping attacking sniper and you can say what you will about that but at the end of the day after every round im 9 times out of ten top with 60+ kills(64size map 32 players) and we end up wining the round, In my eyes that means i have completely helped my team to win the round regardless what you think, its true and happens everyday to that 40% of snipers that play the way i do and in doing this it leads a very big percentage of people to think snipers are a waste of time and not an asset to the team.

Well a big FvckYuo is on order to them.

i am sniper, hear me roar. Just cause we camp alone, doesn't mean we're not trying to help the cause. countless times I have seen in my scope, guys running after my team members, and me taking down the enemy. I've saved many of teammates, defended many of flags, and shot out many of pilots/drivers :)

Im having problems with sniping lately, its my favorite class but i just cant kill ppl as a sniper anymore. I line up a perfect headshot on Karkand and BOOM, i see the cross thinggy but no kill.

That's what a real sniper should do, take out important characters, ex. officers. That way you benefit your team by not giving away your position too often and continue to kill.

I used to be obsessed with sniping, it's still my number one kit according to bf2s, but recently I've just been flying transport helos picking people up and dropping them off where they need to be.

I love the sniper kit, Ive been playing it alot recently on Great Wall, man the corner to corner sniper battles between 3-4 organized squads is pretty intense

Try sniping in POE2... much more satisfying as you can actually hide, and get cleaner shots off.

I completely agree. Having a sniper constantly kill you if you go certain places or stay still for too long changes how you play the game for the worse, causing you to accidentally run into fights against other infantry or be overly cautious.
When I initially played bf2, I was mediocre at sniping, especially at long distances. Playing 2142 taught me something (gasp) about stealth, and not just taking potshots. Now, I rarely take a shot unless I know I can kill in one hit. I love playing on Mashatur, Sharqi, Oman, and Dragon Valley. I love spending my time spotting the enemies for my squad while they take them down. When a map starts and I am on the invading team, I form a squad and go find a nice spot behind enemy lines to kill them in droves. My personal favorite is the spot between the the four oil drums in dragon valley. If youre US, grab a sniper rifle (L96 or Barrett) and go kill the Chinese waiting for the jets/choppers. http://www.secretsofbattlefield.com/dragon3.php
