Re: Your best kit. (1 year later)
Yep, this is coming from someone that has over half of their hours as just sniper. And whose second highest map time is only 2 hours in Wake. Talk about defending a 'sit on your a**' kit.
Like the Neptune said, Snipers are never the MVP of a round...more like a side-show distraction. But I guess the OP was just asking what your best kit really is...not whether you're of any value with it.Comment

Re: Your best kit. (1 year later)
Are you seriously going to go with that?
First its a comment on stats, next this is like my 500th account. Go play.
Each player has their own ways of play, some like medic, some like assault, etc.
As long as a team mate is performing his tasks?
He contributes to the team and the win.Comment

Re: Your best kit. (1 year later)
I h8 snipers for the gaymore free kill(s).
I also h8 it when your SL decides to be a gaymore whore rusher in a close quaters combat part of the map. I honestly yell at them over VOIP and tell them to be something useful for the squad so we can cap a damn flag or something... Then again, some people can manage well as a sniper so it really depends on the player skill.
What I really h8 is when one or more losers spam there gaymores on spawns/flags. It's not really a FPS anymore when that happenes... ::sigh:: *leave and find a new server... again

Well, I would expect nothing less from a sniper that has a banner in his sig showing carrier raping. And I wouldn't really consider sniping on Karkand a big feat. Snipers only contribute if they have an aimbot or spam the **** out of claymores...or if they are sitting on a nice perch over the runway with an M95 keeping pilots grounded. Are you seriously going to go with that?

Pilots clean out tickets wholesale and medics keep tickets from sliding away, but snipers, aside from what I said about keeping pilots on the ground, are they really that valuable?
I have my share of hours as a sniper and I have seen a lot of the effective sides of playing sniper. Yeah, my KDR is not hot as a sniper, but I don't go completing whole rounds as sniper either. Your right, some people have their own ways of fighting. Some like in the mix, and others don't enjoy getting in the heat.
You don't have to be unhappy though if no-one likes your style of play. Really, if you're happy playing by yourself. All the better. Play with yourself. That is fine by me.Comment

Most of my time as sniper iis spent as squad leader behind enemy lines providing a spawn point to each flag.Well, I would expect nothing less from a sniper that has a banner in his sig showing carrier raping. How is it not beneficial to have a long range defendable spawn point? with claymores:laugh:?Comment

Re: Your best kit. (1 year later)
U must be playing I/O Karkand only or something. Let's take my favourite, Dragon Valley as an example. There are many AT guys waiting for tanks and jeeps to attack almost at every flag. What do you consider to be the best solution against those guys, armed to teeth lurking in the forest or some other hidden place waiting for next prey to enter....Let me help u, it starts with S and it has no Ops in it. Free ride for tanks to roll, if someone is pinning down and spotting ATs.Originally posted by NeptuneWTf sniper is winning? Wow you guys are missing out, sniper has got to be by far the worst kit. Its so boring and not effective.
I bet some will now say "sniper kit is effective, j0ur just a n0Ob," well, you can be a lot more effective with ANY other kit.
Do you get kicks out of cheap clay kills? least skill-requiring weapon in the game.
Same goes with those fellows hanging around stinger sites and helo platforms. Who is able to guard 2 maybe three flags at the same time? Who can engage with your handheld weapon against those idiot helos capping flags, with pretty sure kill? Answer is the same as in previous, so check your attitude m8.
Yep, find a hole, set your welcome party and invite people to attack enemy flags deep behind the "frontline". My favourite also :-)Comment

Engineer.
I just love the frustration my enemy suffers when they slam over the mines I placed somewhere they don't think the enemy are. Being able to only drop one, but able to get resupplied from difficult to find sources and lay upto 5 mines at a time is fun.
I love the way that my enemy enter a building and then the whole damned building explodes and pieces rain for a hundred metres around when I set off my c4 (oh wait, sorry. For all the vanilla players out there, forget what I said, you don't have destroyable statics, please erase this paragraph from your mind)
Now the engineer on standard forces has the grapnel hook to enable getting into huge bases from less than likely points of entry, it makes the class worthwhile. (oops, sorry. PR again.)
Plus, jihad wagons with the changed sounds in PR, the whole map hears when I pile a vehicle with several pieces of C4 on it into the enemy armour or base to take down their numbers. The 60 second respawn time on a suicide doesn't really hurt. Half of that time is gone usually before I stop laughing, taking in the praise for a job well done and generally checking the flow of forces across the map with the excellent AAS2 format of taking flags in parralel ordering set by the mapper.Comment
