Over the months that i have been here, i have seen thousands of posts flaming EA for being lazy sh1tes who cant fix nowt all. Lately, the stat server outage has been like putting petrol to a fire, the number of b1tching posts has exploded. Well, i need to get this off my chest...
I am sorry to side with EA, but have you ever stopped and thought, actually maybe this is a pretty serious problem with no obvious solutions? Therefore it needs some extreme looking into before it is fixed. Maybe this might prevent that stats system from going down again in the future?
I know you will say "but they are a huge company with thousands of employees and making £millions revenue", but i am afraid to say, you cannot make a problem go away by throwing money at it (Like having a greedy ex-wife).
Maybe you should just stop and think: EA is a profit making company (they are not here to do everything at our beck and call), they probably are trying as hard as possible to look into the stats issue (and it sounds like a serious problem) and lastly they are not some kind of super humans that can do things in an instance. Im sure quite a lot of the employees are not gamers, and when a stats system goes down over the weekend, they are not going to rush into work and spend hours trying to work out how to fix it (Put yourself in their shoes. Could you be f*cked to spend you weekend fixing a stats system? Thought not.)
I also hear a lot of people complaining about how crap the customer service is. I have had to email them twice about problems with installations and EA Link and have had no problems. Sure, they took a few days to reply, but this is the same for any large corporation. However, each reply I got was custom written (IE, not a standard covering letter), and the guy actually referred to my problem and not one given in their list of FAQ’s. He listened to the possible solutions that I thought might work and helped me along the way with them, each time ending in success.
Well, Im glad that’s off my t1ts now. I have been building it up for quite some time. Expect more people… expect more.
