I find it hilarious that the title to this thread is styled like a news article.

EA makes great games that we HAVE to play but just 4 kicks they mess with the games knowing we have few other choices.

btw amndunncw I like your avatar
I don't think they mess the game up, I think they have it half done and then send it to everyone and then they make about 9 patches to try and fix the problems, but just make everything wrong.

That rings very true, considering there is space for "single player game modes". I remember hitting that "Single Player" button expecting to see 5 zillion modes and what do we get

Re: EA responds to stats issue

EA is concerned with doing one thing: making money. DICE was making the game, and EA said to DICE we want the game out now. DICE said it wasn't ready and needed more time, but EA said you have until now to finish or else.

Battlefield 2 was then released, without a lot of features (and with just as many bugs). No laser designator, no hovercrafts, no blackhawks with missile pods.

Oh well I guess, the game is fun just if EA wanted to make their reputation better than dog s***, they should take a page out of other companies book and make the game work, and if they can't make a deadline delay it so there are little to no bugs, and as much content as promised. Thing is I doubt that will ever happen with EA, since over the years they have made a bunch of crap games with countless bugs and they have gained the reputation of spitting out games and not giving proper support for them.

They made an awsome single player mode on the PS2 and Xbox verisons of the game, but with the PC verison, they totally skiped over it and made the game more Online based and just gave us the retarded bots that sense to have the same AI of the ones from UT2004.

In a sentence, stats help us feel good about us having wasted so many hours at our comp instead of going out and curing cancer etc...

I'd still rather have a new map than stats by far.

u couldnt b more right. i have to admit, earlier when i was playing poe2 on unranked, and i had more fun than i have most of the time on ranked bf2 servers cos im not so distracted by the progress of my kd or score

Re: EA responds to stats issue

For what it's worth, I play on a handful of servers that are unrelated to each other, different countries, different hosting companies. I've played on these for a year and then some with no trouble whatever. Old Bastard's Clan in the UK, =30= and =SF= to name two others. I've seen enough to rest assured it's not the servers themselves. Look to EA's stuff. I never play Gamespy servers, btw. No particular reason.

I'm inches away from my Capt's bars...for what that's worth, too. Recalling when I was a slick sleeve, it does seem like a milestone. Some folks may view stats as comparisons to other players. I follow them to compare me to me. At first I thought it was a bit overboard, but now I know enough about the game to be able to use them to work on how I play, hopefully overcoming some shortfalls here and there. I'm also just a few kills away from the Combat Action Medal. I was hoping to give that to my honey when I ask her to go steady.

What's a game without a score? Tic Tac Toe. Personally, I don't believe anyone who says stats aren't significant to them in some way, or another. The check is in the mail.

Stats aren't registering, but I'm getting my GOLD, SILVER and BRONZE medals right on time.

I havent gotten any of my 4 gold medals, 3 silvers and a bronze nor any of my points. I'm 2k away from 20k points. lol.

Stats only ruined teamplay for battlefield.

I hope they trash the stats and just let us play the game. Just remember that they won't last forever so you may as well accept the fact that sooner or later they will take it down.

I mean look at this quote directly from the EA forums and tell me this isn't lame?

question: who gonna pay for the lost houres (days) we had from our payment to our own ranked server ? a lot of our clan is thinking to bail out and search again for other game "supliers", this was the first time we had a server running ... for me i hope it will be not the last time ... i hope if there will be a new patch that EA make some NICE efort (maybe some nice extra maps, karkand 2 ect ect) for FREE cause running servers on there game is also NOT for free.

feel free to take a look, we love playing inf only 64map with 16 players , no commander.
They are so caught up on having a over priced instance of BF2 and I do mean INSTANCE since there isn't one server provider that isn't running several instances of BF2 or whatever else on one box of hardware. Cause if you think they are going to only waste a few megs of HD space along with a drop of RAM out of a high powered box on only one customer you have another thing coming!

Again, EA remove the stats and give the game back to the players and not the Corporate world!
