Who cares about the stats... like colony said, as long as you have the unlocks there should be like no other reason.. Only thing I like stats for is I can see my progress, how much better I have gotten over time. But I don't really need numbers for that.. **** half the games I have played have been unranked anyways (BF2C), I would say about 600 hrs. of my time have been unranked.

Okay, so my stats will not be lost? If thats the case, oh boy, I'm going to be overwhelmed with tons of points and medals in the next few days... If they're lost, I'm going to go beserk.

Why? it's only a game.
I've played for about 40 hours since the stats outage, why? because I enjoy the game and playing with friends on vent.
Surely the purpose of games is to have fun, no?

what you speak of is blasphemy to most bf2 players. they are so hooked on the "reward" system its almost criminal. its a very powerful phycological stimulant for game players and the developers recognize it. it alone takes over players lives and its one of the only reasons 75% of them still play. just look at the ranked mod servers, a perfect example. if people played just for fun every single poe2 server would be full.

Please this stat system is the most basic form of a carrot on a stick, MMOs have improved on the formula so much that people really literally lose their lives over their characters. But I've yet to hear stories of people selling their bodies for a promotion or an expert badge.

Yes I'm also addicted to the stat system but that's also because I'm trying to cure an MMO addiction. And I'd also like to point out to the people who claim that stats have ruined teamplay because people only care about their personal gains, well you don't have to look too far back in time to realize that it's nonsense. There were just as many retards and smacktards in BF1942. People killed each other for spitfires back then too. People camped their jeeps and tanks on the runways as well. People also looked for every exploit available to make the game unpleasant for everyone else. If you remember the superman exploit you'll know what I'm talking about.

You should be thankful for the stat system because without it, you can be sure that we'd have less than a 100 servers today. It prolongs the game's shelf life.

Yet there is no cure, playing for fun is good, but something about 'earning' makes it even funner. My clan is moving to BF2SF soon so I'll probabally be less hyped about the points, or maybe it willl even get worse. :)

BLAH WoW is so lame. I hate stuff like that. Fantasy and futuristic (BF2142) are just plain crap.

Who the hell would want to mount that anyways? Maybe a rhino would. Shoot I'll buy WoW and play for 5000 points if she takes it from an elephant haha

All Ranked servers give awards and medals!! Did EA get hit in the head with something or what are they smoking!?
We have not had stats or updates to our stats in about 4 days and NOW EA reponds to it with a public message? Unbelievable :shakehead: ..........

Well just like that girl playing wow that sold her body for gold this game has had people selling accounts on ebay!

I say remove the stat system give everyone all the unlocks and lets have some good teamwork!
