[QUOTE=camperstrike;1475088]Oh, I'm sorry. Let me play Highway Tampa on a PC without the game.

Well in that case let just include the $2500 or so that was spent on the computer in the cost of this game.

I am only refering to the add on map that has been given when nothing was expected. I totally agree that there should be some bugs fixed in the game but something is better than nothing

Is the PC part of the game?

When you pay for something, you have to expect some support. And part of that includes free "content". Notice how EA calls it "content" like all the other marketing whores. Epic called it "Bonus Packs", not "content". When people start referring to something in a game as "content", that's a bit f*cked up. Oh, and read my original post.

Well, it seems people like to complain more then just praise, cause once you got soemthing you want something better.

          Re: it's a shame

hmm, I would say that when I buy a game I pay for excactly this DVD I have in hands. If they patch it, it's for free because of the "warranty".
If they give me a map for download, then it's free in the best sense of the word and i thank EA/Dice for that.

About the highway tampa map. I have no idea if it's an old map or not. For ME it's new and I think some people enjoy it. It remembers me of EL ALAMEIN from BF1942. The adds? Hmm, maybe they will introduce the adds for BF2. Then everyone who wants the new (can't say free now) content has to agree to the advertising.
Why should Intel invest money in a Game that is dying? Maybe because it is not dying. I'm still confident that we'll get a final patch - And I'm excited to see someone eating his face on youtube - LOLOLOL

            Yeah great post Fipso.

I'm not so sure about anew patch though, you might be right as 1.41 doesn't sound like something finished.

Anyway, Highway Tampa is a good map, I still don't see what the airplanes are for though.

I like the tank battles, I saw aconvoy of three tanks, then when a tank came, it was out in a few seconds, if people used teamowrk like some people I know rounds wouldn't last more then 30 minutes.

If a new patch comes out that also means bugs will be fixed, but also more bugs will apear. I would like to see less changes and more new stuff, this game could live on for a long long time with more support. Like maybe new guns...( I think most people know which one I'd say ).

Anyway this thread is about people alway complaining and not saying "Thanks EA/DICE/Gamespy"

I complain alot too, everyone does, but there could be more effort to stop wrting "bad" things.

Also, the reason people have these so called "bugs" is cause their PC isn't good or their internet lagged, I remember playing this game on my old PC, that didn't meet all the requirements.

Well now with the new one I've only see one "bug" and it's animation issues of no importance.

              Thanks Bradley,

Yeah, maybe they should just add more things and leave the gameplay as it is....

Ok, maybe some of that is true, and maybe the patch was poor.

However, I find it extremely ironic how many people complain about not receiving free content, and then when they do, it's "this sucks, this sucks, and oh, that sucks too"

Maybe EA is trying to revive the community, and I believe that Highway Tampa is still a beta/demo... that means there are still fixes coming.

What are your views on this?
Do you feel the community tends to just find flaws in whatever free content is presented to them, just for the sake of finding flaws?

While I do not like the new map, I appreciate FREE content.
i see your point and yes new content is always welcome and appreciated when it really is new and free but dont get ahead of yourself. EA has given away exactly 3 maps, 2 weapons and 1 game style for over 3 years of time and two of the maps were corporate sponsored, they made money from them, they didnt do it for free and lets be honest they only did wake to sell more copies of bf2 and Infantry only was only done because the server owners were yelling and bitching or it for over a year. comparing it to other games with the same sized player base and original cost its an absolute pittance of added content, not to mention charging $10 for booster packs of witch there are absolutely no ea sponsored servers.

they dont need to revive the bf2 community, its still much larger than the 2142 community and lots of people are leaving 2142 to return to bf2 each day so the whole thing about reviving the community just doesn't add up. this was more likely done to squash the rumors the ex dice employees who got fired started about ea ceasing all bf2 support. this was a PR move to save face more than anything, ea does nothing for the greater good of the community, dice might but ea never has, if it doesn't have a income potential they don't do it.

i think it would of been more appreciated if it weren't discovered it was a 2 year old fubar map that suddenly became game worthy when a check got got written. that map didnt make the game 2 years ago for a reason, why is it suddenly good enough now? new content is one thing, when its actually new, true community support is an entirely different thing and id sure rather of seen them spend that money they made from intel on providing some real support for the mod community or ranking user created maps, that would be true community support in my mind, not dishing out one new map every year or two.

                    Re: it's a shame

What most of you don't understand is BF2 WAS a great game, then it got rushed by EA. DICE did a great job on what was to be BF2, EA rushed the Christmas date and things got left out, problem here is code was dropped from the final product which leads to problems inside the game. I always have said down with EA and praise DICE, if it were up to them the game would have been great on a downside Project Reality may not be.

Am I happy with what BF2 is currently, no, but I understand that nothing will be done thus I don't complain about the game much. If things were to be done to fix this game it would have been done already. The main reason I feel they are back focusing on BF2 again is this: I don't know this personally as I don't own the game but from what I hear 2142 flopped big time sales and player wise, thus go back to what worked and got you where your at. Now hopefully they do release patches to fix the crap that has been done, but don't cross your fingers.

You guys are getting support for BF2 - they are called mods.

Community mods are not implemented into the official game through official patches. If they were, there would be alot more people playing those maps and content.

                            The problem is community integration.

I have never bought a game EXPECTING some FREE content to be included . I know what I am buying and what is inside the box. It is nice if they fix the bugs that are in the game but I don't EXPECT them to include any "Free content" as in new maps or weapons to any game
