Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Awesome map. Love the long range engagements.. tough to route out infantry at some points due to good cover... really need decent teamwork to get full effect of map... cant wait to get in a good squad on this map...
p.s. - to all those saying add attack heli - you are missing the whole point of the map
What are your thoughts on the new map? Here's mine...
It is like they took the worst aspects of each map and put them all into one just to F*** with us. The lighting is crap like Jalalabad, it is too flat like Zatar, and the only way to get anything done is to form armor columns and whore it up like in Operation Harvest. Also, each outpost is a flag and a bale of hay making frag spamming as effective as it is in Karkand. And THEN they have the nerve to put jets in the map so you seem to be randomly selected to die without warning like in Gulf of Oman and Daqing Oil Fields. Plus we get the pleasure of being told by the billboards that buying an Intel Core 2 Duo will make the lag go away.
Sorry, this turned into a bit of a rant but this map is terribly designed.
The programmers at Dice are so awesome, I have a nag screen everytime I load BF2, but when I go to the website, it gives me an error. What a surprise.... So I haven't been able to get the map.
If you have ever played 2142, I would hardly say they are "shoved down the throat". They are put in nice areas, and they actually look better than the miscellaneous crap devs usually put in games. I would support ads completely, maybe even if it didnt accelerate development.
I just tried this map, I played for 5 minutes and left.
I cant see anything from a chopper because there is a sun coming from the ground blinding me. The space between points makes this an armor whoring map. The advertising is as lame as it gets, EA knows no shame. I hate dust with a passion. All in all its a right **** up, good job.
its actually pretty awsome map :) ...some more tanks would make it even better...
and it could have just some more houses NOT many but just some few :) so i could use it as shelter against planes NAD damn my tank distance destructions is gettin better
Highway to hell!
This map is an AT player’s paradise. :yay:
Plenty of targets, plenty of hiding places and backdoors, lots of opportunities.
Air power is present, but AA is there for balance.
Attack choppers would bring too much mayhem, I think, so it’s good as it is. On the other hand, mayhem is good, right? :p
Give it a try and you won’t regret it.
I will personally endure any advertising on Billboards should it mean that BF2 will get more official maps.
However, I would prefer that DICE do themselves a favor, and start becoming chummy with the mod community. These are people who have perfected the art of map making through trial and error, playtesting, more playtesting and even more playtesting. Their input could hardly hurt.
Another suggestion would be to finally cave in and make a PLA vs MEC Infantry Based Map (8 transports, 1 tank each side, no attack helicopters, no jets), a PLA vs MEC small vehicle map (12 transports, 2 Tanks each side, 1 APC each side, 1 Attack Helicopter each side), and a PLA vs MEC jet based map (12 transports, 2 tanks each side, 1 APC each side, 1 Mobile AA each side, 1 attack helicopter each side, 1 Bomber Jet each side, 1 Fighter Jet each side).
