LOL @ you moving and standing, and scoping in... now that's realistic :/ Proof that snipers are just assault classes with scope weapons.

Re Proning: As soon as I realized I didn't have to do this, my score went up. Now I'm seeing PKM'ers standing and shooting - and getting kills... Looks like this game is going down the toilet.

The only thing I do when playing sniper, is try to make the enemy commander's life a living hell. I normally sneak into the back, figure out who the commander is and kill him over and over again. Sometimes I get a spec ops to come with me and destroy the UAV and Scan. Then I kill the the people the commander sends or sometimes the commander as they try to repair them. I also enjoy shooting the commander center mass and making him look for me for 15 minutes (the UAV and Scan are destroyed, and the people repairing them keep getting killed by some "jerk" mind you), which means his team are completely on their own.

I'm all for that gameplay, but these actions get me banned from several servers for doing this because they have stupid "don't attack uncap" rules or "spec ops only in enemy base" rules.

i like to always be concealed, and always be out of harms way...

i like to snipe sometimes as squad leader cuz im always close to enemy flag, im protected, and concealed under cover, and usually have a good vantage of the CP i want my guys to attack, so i can serve as a spawn point, relatively safe, and can cover my guys...when flag is about to be ours, i issue a new order, and snipe at that CP until my guys take it.....etc...

usually im between two enemy CPs, so when one is about to be taken, i can still be a good spawn point, be hidden, and cover my guys, and switch the attack order to the one im next to...

the only thing that would piss me off is when squad members throw medpacks and ammopacks at me...


if im not squad leader, i like to lone wolf.....i dont want squad members or anyone else anywhere near me, and i usually like to creep around and fight on the opposite side of the front line, in the background, i like to take position street-level, because everyone looks up when they hear/take sniper fire.......i can usually put one clay near infront or behind me in case anyone approaches that i cant see......i move around with the battle....usually focusing on getting headshots more than anything.....id rather go for a headshot than go for a flag....

Best sniper map i find where the shots are actually tough is Dalian plant, ive been trying to shoot helicopters with my M95 but i failed miserably lol..

i love dalian for the sniping...i found some good spots.....and i think sniping ppl out of heli/jets is hard too....for me, it never seems to hit even though im on target....

i think one of that hardest maps for a sniper is daqing

true that, but dont play it a lot lol..Karkand is the easiest IMHO especially at the famous train accident death match :p

LOL I cant shoot the pilots out of the choppers, bar one time! I thought bugger it and took a pot shot, I saw who I killed and saw the chopper spiral into the ground.

This should never be possible for a sniper class - realism games or not...

Why not, if someone is good at it?
Damn, sometimes I pick the sniper kit just for the claymores. It`s fun as hell to spam them all overthe place, pissing enemies off. Placing them near spawnpoints is twice as fun.
BF2 is as realistic as Team Fortress.
Cheap tactics win.

It has nothing to do with a player being 'good' or not. A sniper class should sit back and snipe, not be on the front lines.

Actually, Team Fortress is now more realistic than BF2, in my opinion.

So, if a player is a much better assaulter with the sniper kit than with the assault kit, he should still take the latter, although that would mean he`s not as useful as he could and should be just because snipers are meant to sit back and snipe.

Man, this sort of crap pisses me off. Now you're gonna play the 'realism' card?

That has nothing to do with class roles in a game. If a class is meant to be a 'healer' type class, it should be designed to reflect that.

If a class is a long-range class, it's strengths should be designed to reflect that as well.

But hey, the game's not real right? So anything goes... let's get the engineer to shoot lightning bolts out of his *** then - you're telling me you wouldn't be here complaining about how stupid that would be?

You can`t compare shooting lightning bolts out of arse with snipers being in the wrong place, doing the wrong thing.

Exactly, the developers are to blame for a screwing up the game like that, but as it is in the game, why not use it if its effective.

I would love if BF2 would atleast give me the illusion of realism by removing all the nade, claymore spam, insta-proning, etc stuff, but when I see the people bunnyhop, shoot GL short range, all that goes right out of the window and I start playing this game having a Quake, UT mindset thus I start doing the same s*it.

My english is pretty c*ap so I hope my post isn`t all gibberish.
BF2, it`s amazing.
