Look to the past as your gauge. Three times more people still play 1942 then BFV. I am sure it will be this way with BF2 and 2142.

except 2142 was done JUSTICE bfv needs a bfv2 it was not done right and pales in comparison to bf1942, dont get me wrong I LOVE bfv but bf1942 bf2 is just better.
I plan on buying 2142 I was addicted to the bf2142 multiplayer demo until i was.... :cry: forced to uninstall to free up space.

I am just wondering do you guys think that 2142 will take over bf2 or just kind of phase out? I have invested considerable time in BF2 but don't want to get to a high rank (eventually) and there be no one left playing. Any advice?

2142 was a major flop
don't accuse me of not playing, because I gave that game a good run.
It just gets monotonous, no variety involved
maps seem closed, it just doesn't make you feel like you're actually fighting.
Only thing I liked were the helos (top 10 woot! lol), but those didn't even make me stay.

I have an extra key if anybody wants it lol.

Can i have it lol??

i gave 2142 a good go for about 3 months got bored and said wow its almost the same as bf2 except they just touched it up a bit if you think about it its almost as they just add new skins ,some weapons that might look futuristic, touched up the graphics a bit and thats about it

You all need to go out and buy 2142, you can customise your kit to whatever your mood is and there are many cool features but no itll never take over bf2, its basically like a different game all together, dont even think about it as a battlefield series... but its good and needs to be played!

The cone of fire is so bad, I'm just waiting till I get into a firefight, and the game pauses, and a coin is flipped, because thats how firefights are determined in that game.

Wow monkman it sounds like you are a hearty and dedicated player. Is this how you got your "amazing stats"?

Or is this why you like it so much?

2142 takes out a lot of the skilled gameplay (soloing, choppers, jets, bunnyhopping, instaproning,one shot HS weapons, any vehicle practically) so anyone who is experienced in the game will hate it, because how "dumbed down" the game is. People don't have a problem changing, its just changing to a game that makes it easier for noobs, that turns people off.

I have no idea what you are trying to say there. If its so dumbed down why are so dedicated to have played it for over 3 days solid? Is instaproning a skilled tactic? there are 1 headshot weapons in both games. You need to clarify this passage!

haha true about xfire. It so sad that WOW is on the top though. It makes me sad. I mean they even made a South Park out of it. :)

WoW is addictive, really addictive...

Trust me i've played it... gonna sell my account soon though hehe (68 + 61 + 49 for people who know levels )

Some kid actually killed himself after playing it 36 hours straight, somewhere on the news if you look o.0

Basically it takes months to get 1-2 items but it's stil addictive lol

2142... got it, played it, got high rank, got bored, went back to BF2 lmao

Also 2142 they don't have jets, only "gunships" which are like sucky versions and its like totally ruined air to air combat

Gunships are attack choppers which can fly in a relatively straight line basically, except the TV is useless, the cannon isnt that good and the missles are heatseeking lol

BF2 is more diverse and more mods for it than 2142, and 2142 the guns are WAY too unbalanced

E.G "Shuko LMG" has a Rate of fire of like 1000 a second and it is as accurate as an M95 in BF2 lol

All the guns are WAY too accurate and its much, much, MUCH easier to bunnyhop/exploit in it lol

I don't think BF2142 will ever have as many people BF2 does, this game isn't as fun as BF2 is.
BF2142 seems to be all about unlocks, plus it doesn't have anything good for people who like helos/jets.

EA still hasn't learned that booster packs dont last, it only splits up the community and bf2142 is small enough as it is.
If they want that game to last more then 6-8months they need to release maps and weapons in patches, stop milking customers with booster packs.

The real question should be is what is EA/DICE doing with the money they make off the ingame ad's, its not making the game any cheaper or making booster packs free.
The only thing i see making this game cheaper is less people are buying it, so EA lowers the price alittle.

I think BF2142 already has one foot in the grave, even if they lowered the price to $19.95 it wouldn't make it anymore popular.
Like other people have said, just look at x-fire 10top list, you don't see BF2142 on there anymore.

Bought it, played it and now it just sits on my hard drive taking up space.:hmm:

The only good thing about 2142 is that I was so disappointed in the game I was forced to look at the mods being offered for BF2 because I wanted a little change of pace now and then from vanilla maps.

I must tell you that I was quite impressed with some of the work the modding community has turned out for BF2 that I am not sure if I will not be playing 2142 much at all.

This will inevitably happen...
All you will be left with is a printout of your stats... That is, if you make a print out...

My advice would be to never invest time in a game, but simply play it some in your free time till you get fed up...
