    Colin Clarke Featured On GZ.TV

Colin Clarke, the DICE Battlefield Community Manager, recently aired in a 41 minute video where he addressed a lively crowd of Battlefield players about many aspects of the game. Here are a few of the main points he discussed as far as Battlefield 2 and the future patches are concerned:
    • C4 throwing will be gone.
    • The new map, "Road To Jalalabad," is being deemed the new Karkand.
    • An infantry only mode is still being tested.

I love how the camra shakes no when clarke starts talking about "features". Props to camra man for calling the BULL SH!T! I love when the question pops up, "Why should I buy this instead of QWars", Clarke says "We've been doing it longer". Hemimotorz says, "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA and thats why vietnam and bf2 are AWESOME! /sarcasm." How about some decent questions from the crowd? Like when do you have any plans to enhance performance and stability? Is a open beta a way to pawn off fixing BF2 on the comunity? Have you dropped mod support for BF2 and intend that they will pick up with 2142? I mean really soooooo much is wrong with BF2 and no one tried to light a fire into this guys ass. DICE has turned into that company that only thinks of money. You could see it when clarke was speaking. He didnt want to loose his job and say, " Well, I'd love to see BF2 fixed before 2142 came out." I cant stand this crap anymore. I dont want to have any part with DICE anymore. This is not the company that made Battle Field 1942.

:hmm: im not looking forwad to 2142 but i am looking forword to the beta. c4 throwing is needed, and realy woundnt be a porblem if there was a more important aspect to blowing **** up. the spec op and eng is the most under used kits in the whole game.

it re-affirms that Dice dont have anyone who make decisions that have actually played a game in their life. and they seemed to be up beat about there changes to the community. too little too late im sorry.

I think he means that he expects that BF2 mods will migrate to ETQW once it's released.

I don't really want to watch the video, but commenting on the blurb introducing it: isn't C4 throwing already gone? What are they going to do now, make it so that you have to be lying down prone holding down the fire button for 15 seconds while you arm and prime the C4? I never had any problem with throwing C4 to begin with.

Also, with all this talk about making some medals easier to achieve (and making the expert knife badge nothing special at all) how about making it easier to achieve the expert repair badge and expert explosives badges? It's damn near impossible without exploiting the game to make 7 repairs in a round, let alone 20.

And how about fixing those damned claymores? Either remove them entirely from the sniper class, create some way for them to be picked up / destroyed (how is a thin metal shell filled with volative explosives invulnerable?) or give them a detonator, as with C4. As far as I know, real claymores don't have magical motion detectors with IFF built into them.

Well, they might as well fix BF2 while they fix BF2142 when that comes out... it is the same engine. They are fixing the same problems...

yeah why is he sweating so much when he's the community correspondence leader?

obviously the people there weren't that thrilled with the way things are going

Watched the video completely, it was a good 41 minutes.

About the c4 Chucking, he did say that in bf2142 they are looking for away to allow c4 chucking but not like chucking a disc 10 feet in front of you, more like getting it over a wall.

The red tag bug should be fixed in the 1.4 patch, see if its in the beta and tell ea about it.

And to hemimotorz yes it is the same company that made bf1942, its the people up in cananda that are screwing up the patches.
Infantry mode is basiclly, no vehicles at all and player hitpoints jacked up.
