Re: whats your opinion on "wait in line" rule
Heres how I look at it.
Time to time you encounter reasonable server demands.
Uncap, squad rules, lines..they could be worse and more worse admined.
Its not as if every server is like this, and sometimes playing a game with "boundaries" is a more enjoyable game...mind you I couldnt play like this all the time! Id go nuts not being able to spam a deck with bombs:evil:
Sometimes rules that encourage fun take away from the kill kill kill war aspect, but its nice to have a level of sportmanship sometimes.

was playing on some server a few days ago and got kicked for cutting the line, this and "squad up or get kicked" rule are some of the most stupid rules
this rule is also slowing the game down alot
Was the server called FullContactWar? Cause I used to play there if a ton of my admin buddies.
They had the exact same rule, and it worked great.
How did it slow the game down? The noobs crash really quicky, and the good ones stay up in the air the whole time.
I like the rule a lot.

Maybe some others take the chopper then, and gets knocked out all the time by the emeny chooper. Then they are useless in the air imo. Then let pilots/gunners which really can use the chopper well take off and help your team - by taking out tanks, choppers, infantry at flags and those jets which can't fly either.

File this question under Player Respect. If someone is waiting for a plane, you let them take it. You don't scoot in there (perhaps TKing them as well) and grab it.
Wait your turn. Why this even has to be a rule enforced by admins is beyond me.
Do you budge in line for things in real life? Common courtesy dictates you wait in line like everyone else.
Didn't your mommy and daddy teach you to respect other people? If so, why would you even have to ask this question?

Wrong. Unless it's a competitive match, this attitude has no place in BF2. The players paid the $59 and have the right to fly/use any vehicle they want in the game - they're not subject to what others say they should do due to percieved skill.

If I'm holding down E, and I get in, it's mine for the taking, you can stand under my wing if you want/complain to an admin...but it's just a pub.
I'd expect that from you, anyway. Not a surprise.

my rule, whoever is there gets it.
Also, not a surprising attitude from you either.

there is no line for vehicles or aircraft, it's always been on a first come basis.
That's fine, just as long as you don't scoot in and grab it, knowing full well I was there first, and had a right to take the next plane that spawned. If you scooted in there and grabbed it, you would not be showing courtesy to your fellow players.
Re: whats your opinion on "wait in line" rule
I don't play with vehicles anymore, but when i used to, forget waiting in line. If im at the vehicle first, then its mine. Couldn't care less about you lmao.

Re: whats your opinion on "wait in line" rule
Mmm, sorry entity, but I have to disagree with you and just steal the plane if I can. I try to be respectful in fair in everything I do, and sharing the vehicles would the best way to do things in a perfect world. So would communism
The fact is, if you wait in line for a plane, you're not going to get it unless you're extremely lucky and playing on a server without smacktards. I've seen people give up a plane because I was closer to it when it spawned and would have it anyways, but I don't think I've ever seen anybody (other than myself, and I learned better than to do this very quickly) offer a plane to somebody else because they had been in it for a longer time....
I remember one situation in particular which was kind of when I realized being fair was hopeless. I took off of the carrier on wake, got shot down by a J10, smacked my head against the wall a bit, and then respawned. I got the jet again, but I see a guy running over to it and I get out and let him have it. I say here you try it, because I couldn't take down the J10 pilot.
The guy takes off, also gets shot down in short order. He respawns, tries to C4 me into the water so he can get the plane. I get the plane anyways because the guy is a moron, and then as I'm taking off I get punished for a tk. I say "?" in chat, and he starts calling me a plane stealing whore, etc etc, I get kicked from the server (apparently this fool was an admin).
So that's what you get for being fair, lesson learned. Now I steal jets and flashbang teammates without mercy, because f*** them. If my teammates seem to be reasonable people who aren't 13-year-old smacktards I'll gladly share the planes. However I have yet to meet people like that in a public server, so I will continue my whorish ways.
If you stand there and try to be fair, you're going to be standing there a long time while people steal your jet left and right. If you can't beat them, join them, and then beat them at their own game because they're all idiots anyways

This is the second time I've seen this in this thread. While I agree with it in concept, the reality is there is no way to know who is "good" and who isn't. When I play with folks that I know who are better in a jet/heli/armor than I am I'm happy to let them have it and I'll squad up and do my medic thing.
To the original question, I like the wait in line rule. It sure as hell beats the TK'ing freeforall that typically takes place around the airfield. As to squading up, I like that too. The BF2 game experience is at its best when one is a part of a full squad, all on VOIP, capping/defending flags.
