People think F-18/J-10 is even.. HELL no it isn't. J-10 is so much better it's insane. Only thing F-18 can do is dodge missles decent. Other than that, it can't turn as sharp, and it's slow as hell.

i kill j-10s all the time in the f-18
and i get kileld just as much by j-10s in the f-18.

and we did pwn the skies with our little coop flying.
machine guns work better j-10 is immune 2 missles.

I agree. J10 is a ***** to kill, even moreso with an inferior jet. But out of all 3 fighters, I still prefer the F18 against the J10.

I would rather be in a 35 then an F18, the F18 feels like a sluggish fat thing trying to fly with no propulsion.... although it lives longer, I would still rather be quick and nimble before I died...

I like the F18 quite a bit as well, it provides a sense of security -- flares? Who needs 'em! :) [A2A] In terms of flying ability though, it's no match for the J10, it would be nice if it was a little faster, longer afterburner, etc.

How about we take the Mig29 and give it the hitbox of the F18, now we'd have something better to challenge the J10. The F35 is probably the most fun jet to fly though, but in a pure dogfighting environment, it's laughably inappropriate against the J10. I think the F18 gives you the best chance.

For those of you that don't fly the J10 often, when you do fly it, do the controls feel annoyingly "mushy"? I hate that, it takes a while to get used to...should probably use the J10 a little more than I do.

The other day for the first time in recent patch's I managed to down what I would call a good J10 pilot, only because I joined mid round and managed to catch him off guard. He was 20-0 Dalian Plant. Once he knew I was about no chance, although he only got another three kills through the game which my team won in the end. LOL did we play cat and mouse for some time.

I quite like flying the F35 against a J10 as you can't really lose as such, everyone knows it's not a fair fight.

As for the guy re: Teamplay in a plane, Oman is great for that sometimes MIG protects the bomber which if left untouched will cream everything on the deck. A good pilot in a J10 though I think you can only really bug him and try to put him off his game.

Yup. If you mean "mushy" by having somesort of delayed control response. Worse than the bombers do.

I dont really get why people are so frustrated about F18. It has fairly limited airspeed, but its almost the same as MiGs, and people dont call that plane slow. It doesnt roll as fast as F35B, but most people dont realize that you can use afterburners to increase agility, and that means roll speed too.

Id take F18 over MiG any day of the week. It has more aces up its sleeves than the MiG does. MiG is the average jet, the golden central pathway, but F18 is like F35B, it has its own wildcards, yet people dont explore it.

Yes, if we put two equal pilots into seats, J10 wins, but only if the pilots fly both jets as they were the same, make the F18 pilot fly the F18 as if it was a F18, and youll increase his chances of survival, heck even success.

Find yourself being outspeeded in a circlejerking war? Low yo-yo and you have just opened yourself up for a diagonal missile shot opportunity. You cant do that with the F35B, but you can with the F18. Diagonal shot also means increased chances of a solid missile hit.

What the F18 really lacks in, would be some more afterburners, or at least F35Bs speed range, that would be pretty sweet.

The J-10 is clearly overpowered. It's like this...

J-10 = AK-47, practical, easy to use, and anyone can fly it without being shot down most of the time.

F-35 = M16, you need to know the tricks and know-hows in order to use it effectively.

Conclusion: In the dogfights that occur in BF2, 90% of the time it's about missiles hitting your enemy when you have a clear lock. J-10 does it effortlessly and hits the target EVERYTIME while the F-35 MISSES if the J-10 turns even a little. There is a CLEAR unbalance. And to think that you think other people are noobs while you don't even understand the mechanics of the game to begin with...

uh, M-16 kicks ***! its better than Ak-47 and AK101. Its has superior accuracy and its easier to handle in a gunfight because you dont lose control of your gunfire like you do with the AK

IMO it's easier to shoot down J-10's with F-35B's, only because it's much faster, and has crazy response and roll/pitch speeds... etc.

So even if the J-10 can turn sharper, you can get the jump on him and start turning before he does. Only bad thing is, once he is behind you.. you have ONE chance to get away, and you need both 3/4 afterburner at LEAST, and flares... and even then you have an extremely low chance of surviving.


The F-18, while it might turn sharper, it's slow as hell! Sure it can dodge missles... but the J-10 turns sharper AND it is so much faster, both avg. speed and the afterburner length.


Anyone who doesn't think the J-10 is overpowered compared to the other jets has to be retarded.

Despite many forum goers support of you j-10 > f-18 theory i find the f-18 BETTER than the j-10.
the f-18 doesnt have those "mushy" controls that the j-10 does and its just as manuverable, so if you dont feel like its a fair fight with f-18 vs j-10 then....sorry.
I can shoot down j-10s ALL the time with the f-18 and still have time for bombing runs.
well anyway thats that so...yeah.

LOL. Its not about being retarded, Metallica. Its about accepting the fact that plane A is better than plane B. Unfortunately for US, PILOTS who adapt to differences (not bugs, mind you), people, the whiners on the ground made sure that the area where USMC excelled... Black Hawk, got effectively wiped.

One huge advantage F18 has over J10 is acceleration, deceleration and engine response time. J10 is faster, F18 can do the "Maverick" move, end up on J10s tail, and if you plan your acceleration right you can even stay on J10s tail.
