It's a phenemona I've observed in many, many hours of gameplay. The problem is in making sure I can kill them faster than their increased accuracy kills me.
But remember there are cases of those using aimbots. So don't get fustrated if it doesn't aways work.

Honestly this is a non-issue, in a firefight within BF2 you basically have two options, circle around and jump like retards trying to hit one another or one of your takes a risk, prones, increases his accuracy and gets a head shot instead of random hits you might otherwise get while in a firefight.

      This is simply tactics.

No skill in bunny hopping or dolphin diving...
Its not a tactic, more like a exploit.
Let's be realistic, EA/Dice designed the game with the average gamer in mind, just like BF:V. Thats why the overall flight controls took a huge turn. Average gamer couldn't counter-rotate to fly straight enough.
I guess you would consider hopping around like a complete DEE DEE DEE, trying to shoot each other, like it's a real world-tactic, 2 retards dont make special ed. I would say take away the ability to hop, and shoot with any type of accuracy. Only safe tactic to use in hopping would be to be get away or avoid fire. Dolphin diving no excuses.
I have heard from some people that the best clans use those methods, I laugh at that comment. Its because, DICE has yet to fix the problem.
1.3 developers movie stated that EA/Dice never intended for you to be able to bunny hop and/or dolphin dive. But have yet to fix it, or this game, and have swayed others to buy another full version beta called 2142.

BTW I play sniper on a regular basis.... Bunny hopping, dolphin diving does you no good against me. I rip pilots out of their seats with the thunder stick called the .50 cal. No need for hacks or cheats, pure skill, as in real life.

I would drop this version of Bf2 in a heart beat if a revised tactical version came out like you described. It would so much cooler to have to move slower using cover and such. I mean with all the none realistic stuff like unlimited nades and revives why would a hint of realism to the player movement be so terrible. It would kill the game tho since I think a good population of the game doesnt want realism but action.
Its not to bad I guess, I mean I never really played FPS before Bf2. I once bought UT4, installed it and played one round..it was all out jumping, twisting, flying crazy disco lights and madness..I uninstalled, trashed it.
So all in all..it could be worse, right?

            Learn to shoot vertical
yea but whining is much eassier those days because dice listen to it but fixing some major bugs.

If I'm playing AT, my favorite class, I actually want them to go prone because it makes an even easier target for a well-placed rocket, but sometimes no matter what I do I'll die 50 times in a row to this tactic. So it could be ping, lag, me being tired, w/e. I'm just trying to find if anyone else feels the same way I do, or if I need a new computer lol.
Well ping level and computer speed do make a differance too.

A well formulated argument. The "ability" you speek of, gaming ability that is, mainly has to do with the ability to shoot quickly and accurately. Niether of the things you mentioned relate to that thus your argument is complete BS. All of the best players in the world do it and I can promise you they have TONS of skill. You terrible argument shows you IQ and shows us what kind of a player(nub) you are.

Re: Getting Owned by Dive To Prone

Read up further, DEE DEE DEE.
BF series since Vietnam was designed and made for the Average gamer like yourself. You have to put in things that average the overall gameplay out, between players like myself, and players like you.
There isnt any realism to BF2 what so ever.
Once the highly awaited MoD, DCon comes out.
Vanilla BF2 will be history. And pretty much already is.
No one wants to play a game filled with bugs, hacks, exploits, and over all unbalanced gameplay. EA/Dice has not been able to get a BF series right since, Vietnam.
Furthermore, after 2142 has come out, Dice is releasing a $20 booster pack that contains, both AF & EU. They will never make a title that is for the ABOVE average gamer. Speed and accuracy are to different things. Hopping around, and prone diving like a complete short-bus rider, takes NO SKILL.
Try that sh!t, in real warfare. You arguement will be it isn't real.
But for people that want a real game, with real tactics. BF2 just isnt it.
So many people are turned off by Bf2, that buying 2142 is a joke.
So continue to hop around, and look like a complete idiot...a UT wanna be player I would say. Even though I want to sit here, and b!tch and complain about hoppers, they still get their melons split by snipers like me.
And as far as my IQ goes, like I said accuracy and quickness have nothing to do with one another..
Little saying around the anti-terrorism school that I instruct @.
Fast is Fine ~~~ Accuracy is final.... You ever around the DC area, look me up.... HeHe!

Yeah, I bought BF2 originally because it claimed be a realistic FPS shooter. But it is now so full of ********, and bull-fi'ng-s*** moments, it should be called BFS2.

I think TFC is more realistic than BF2 now, and I never thought that would happen

they may have skill, but the way they play you would never know it. let me ask you something: how much skill does it to hit a f*ckin button? people like RD volx and anyone who hops or dives give the groundpounders in ths community a bad name. you really should realize what an *** you look like the next time you start fish flopping, and how adolescent you sound when you use terms like "pwn" and "nub".

It doesn't matter what I do. I can be moving and shooting at them in the back of the head, they'll jump and wheel around, dive to prone and bam headshot.

I can be already prone, prepared and shooting short bursts, watching as the cursor tells me I've hit them several times, emptying my clip at them... same thing... they wheel around, dive-> prone and I'm dead.

I'm sniping a guy up on USMC sniper ridge on Karkand, he jumps off the side, slides down the hill in prone position, ends his slide, and pulls off a miracle PKM shot.

I'm drilling a guy in the back of the head with a pistol, watching the cursor telling me I am hitting him... he jumps, turns mid-air, and prones, taking me out in 3 shots.

I just don't get it. I'm a good player in all instances, usually getting the jump on most of them. Anyone standing or running, or otherwise non-proned dies, or if they are already prone. Yes, if they are already prone I can kill them.

The secret seems to be to actually dive->prone in the middle of a firefight for the win. Is this hard-coded in the game to increase accuracy just for a bull-****ing **** moment?

I love this game, but this is more like BFS2 now.

Can someone please explain to me why I am getting owned by the dive-to-proners. Please dont tell me I'm inaccurate. I'm hitting them. The problem is they are getting the fatal shot on me quicker by performing dive-to-prone in response.
My best suggestion is when they dive and then prone is that you start jumping so you ruin their accuracy. And then you prone and shoot him down when he stands up.
