No, Echoes of Glory is the Civil War. But I can see how you got mixed up!

Edit: Sorry, I didn't see that it had already gotten answered.

Who is daring enough to actually attempt to start this mod up?

Battlefield is a modern game and you fight using guns but it would be like battlefield 1942 mod battlefield 1914. I might play it if I can be botherd to download it :)

With the likes of Oblivion, medieval:total war etc i feel the genre is pretty well saturated (I know that hasn't stopped others). Making a medieval mod with a modern war game engine is going to be A.) very tough B.) Not very popular

Don't get me wrong I would personally give it a go, but i think at least 95% of BF2 players wouldn't.

Crusaders liberating the Holy Land from the heathens, I like it...

Knights Templar anyone? And this time they don't lose Acre...

It's a great idea, but it would be VERY hard to do well.
Crossbows, longbows and siege equipment would be pretty simple.
With close quarter weapons swords, axes, spears, shields and the like would be need to be done right. Maybe with say sword and shield, have left mouse button fire/swing the sword and right mouse button use the shield to block enemy blows.
With a 2 handed sword LMB to swing/fire, RMB to block.

If done right I would definitely DL it and give it a go.

i proberbly would give it a go but what would end up is archers just pwning every1 because they can shoot you while you are running at him like a mad man waving your sword, the only real way i see in justifying this is taking 4 arrows to the chest to kill someone but that is unrealistic.

Rclick is for zoom only. Isn't possible like it was in bf42.
(of course I'm open to being proven wrong.)

Ok, well the reason i asked is because i'm part of a new project and we were trying to suss out how many people would actually play it. It's not a medieval mod.... per say, but does enter the 'fantasy' genre

                            Keep you posted.

btw, that siege bf1942 mod looks hilarous, wished i'd played that.

Actually it isnt satured AT ALL, there is no multiplayer action Medieval games, first Oblivion is an RPG game, Medieval is RTS

The only action medieval game out there right now is Dark Messiah and it is mainly focused in Single player campaign

I would like to see something like battlefield with ranks, and unlocks but in a medieval setting, with unlocks like a new bow a new sword, a new shield stuff like that

An strategic action medieval game just think about it ;p Archers in the back firing arrows and Soldiers with their big shields in front

A squad of 10 guys protecting themselves with their shields all together rushing an outpost ;D so nice

A horse mounted squad attacking fast a group of unprotected archers h0h0h0

They could make archers crouch to shoot or stay still

I would like to see something like this but well done nothing stupid like archers running like crazy and shooting arrows like if they got a machine gun or something, or guys swinging swords like every second like a madman thats pretty ridiculous

blind is right, its not saturated at alll..... its never really even been attempted!!!

all i can say is siege for 1942 was AWESOME!!!!!

reallly got your adrenaline pumping, with formations, archer volleys, charges, climbing the ladders onto enemy walls...... it was just fantastic!

a BF2 mod for this would really be unique and so much fun!
