Is this a BFRoE Violation (no crossing center map)

@IndianScout, Why are hundreds of servers allowed to enforce the rule of Not Attacking The Uncaps?
@Shepherd007, How is not crossing a certain area in the map the same as statpadding in some remote location with two of your buddies by running a continious(?) cycle of killing and reviving?
I'll try my best to answer the indianscout question: Not attacking uncaps is an allowed rule that EA allows people to enforce as long as it is stated before entering the server (in the message box).
Re: Is this a BFRoE Violation (no crossing center map)
Ok ... so how is creating one deadzone (area on the map which you are not supposed to enter) different from the next as was the case of the sniper server (apart from whatever other rules they had going there)?

BTW, your 3rd grade spelling and grammer are showing....
It's a shame you can't play the game the way you want to, after paying good money for a server, paying good money for a game, and inviting others to play there.
However, I feel inclined to point out that--especially--when criticizing the spelling and grammer of others, one should at least use correct spelling and grammar.
Best of luck, and I hope you get things sorted out. Often, I find the de facto sniper fights that evolve when the MEC only holds their base on a 32-player map are fun and challenging. Playing that situation exclusively does sound like fun.

thats not the only RoE violation. They do not allow commanders to use scans or UAVs which is a direct violation (though I'm not sure exactly how they'd know if a commander used the scan feature).
I'm no RoE expert, but it borders on high points servers by not allowing ticket bleed.

you can......unranked. they have a good fan-base so they wouldn't have trouble keeping the server populated. they have many regular (at least it seems that way from their forums).

Pffft. EA might as well sell me a lawnmower, and put a little sticker on the inside of the unreturnable-when-opened-box that says I can't use the farcking blade.

As I said in my previous post ... apart from whatever other rules they had going there ... I would like to see somebody from ROE explain the difference between the two areas I mentioned.
And high point servers have been around for a very long time now, just like K&P servers. The total in the hundreds so why is one server with some peeps on it that like the sniper kit going to unbalance the whole stat system while the other servers are still full with highpointers and knivers? Doesnt make sense to me and apparently nobody can explain it in any clearity.

Wow. I was in a Karkand server once where the admin was kicking the other team if they crossed the river. When he was MEC, he could go whereever he wanted. Same on US. When the OTHER team crossed the river... boot!
i hate admins like that so much, all's they do is just abuse admin powers and cry when they get pwnd on there own server.
example:
i was on J4F clan server, i was commander, i get in a jeep for about 13 seconds and they gave me warning so i said ok and i never went in again.
WELL a few seconds later they kicked me!!!!!
i was so pissed i grabed my keyboard threw it down on the ground and stomped on it and went and bought a new 10 dollar keyboard
anyways, i went back in and i said the usual wt* and they said i went back in, when i never did. Well anyways thats some of the reasons why.
no offense to old people (30 and above) but seriously, dont play bf2 if your gunna be abusing admin powers and complaining about everything.
PM if you want more examples etc.
Re: Is this a BFRoE Violation (no crossing center map)
You can get off of your soapbox now. I can't believe you're bringing up the US Constituition to promote your belief.
The problem is that this is a ranked server that kicked someone for trying to take a flag. It's a CONQUEST game design, that is what you are supposed to do! A ranked server is bound by the rules of the ROE, and this server does not follow those rules. Sorry, but it is a form of stat-padding (K-D ratio, heal points, Sniper badges, etc.).
What soapbox? I am voicing my opinion. If that is being on a soapbox then we are ALL guilty. As for the constitution, what is so strange about that? The ROE is like a constitution for BF2. Like the US constitution, it needs to be flexable. Otherwise it is useless. Sorry but your are dead wrong about the stat padding. PPl in the sniper server get LESS points per round. LOWER K-D ratio, NO heal points as there aren't supposed to be medics, thats why we kicked medics because they were padding their stats. And just what are all the sniper badges going to do for you? A pointless question because no one EVER gets the expert in that server. It is impossible. So 2 sniper badges (that most had BEFORE coming to our server) and LOWER scores and ratios, Where is the padding? Try some facts before posting.
I've already contacted their new GSP
Really? And what new GSP would that be? We have NOT changed GSP's. So either you posted before getting facts or are a liar. We have the same provider and are following the ROE. (for now) Not to mention this has ruined the server and turned it into another clone of all the other smacktard filled servers, but hey, BF2rankedservers.com won right? I would like to give this sight credit but you were weeks late even hearing about it, much less doing anything.

I guess BASIC math is a dead art. LOWER points. LOWER K-D ratio. Where is the padding? High points server? 30-35 per round is high points? You should work on your skills. As was the case when you were in our server your talking from the wrong end of your body. Are you happy? Your whining has been successful... for now.

Well said. The big difference right now is that the high points servers and K&P servers are no longer being enforced. We seem to be one of the few being enforced. Again, this is NOT a high points server. Average is 30-35 and 50 is considered excellent. Hardly high points. Keeping the flags even serves to assure that the points go down only when a kill happens. As for an explanation, don't hold your breath. It won't come.
Re: Is this a BFRoE Violation (no crossing center map)
I just have one question. The way i understand it, you can not restrict the commander for using commander assests and can not restrict the use of vehicles. That is what the ROE says, right? Then why did the people at EA allow for the 1.4 patch to come out because it restricts the vehicle and the artty. To me, the people at EA are breaking their own rules by allowing that patch to let the servers remove them.
People buy the game, they pay for the servers but yet EA does not care what the people want. All they look at is thier wallet. Well, since this all has happened to the sniper server (since nothing has been done to all the pistol/knife servers) EA will be lossing some money. There are alot of people that will not be buying anymore of their games.
I believe everyone is picking on this server is because they do have admins on there at all times. And alot of the pistol/knife servers don't, so they think they can come onto the sniper server and get away with everything and then they get mad when they see that they can't have their way.

Thank you to all that posted comments regarding our server. I am the facilitator of the {Sn][per}Group server. We are not a clan and I do not claim to be the group leader. I do not speak for everyone. I am one of the original 5 founding members of {Sn][per}Group. Our group was formed on the basis of "Friends helping Friends."
We originated from Soldier of Fortune 2. We play sniping exclusive there. We reallize that SOF2 is dead, but we still continue to enjoy sniping. Therefore we incorporate this sniping gamestyle into BF2. I have to admit, at first we did not understand the ROE and didn't know it existed. Now that we do, we will do everything we can to follow it to the best of our abilities. We are working with our GSP and are not enforcing the rules.
I apologize in advance on the behalf of all {Sn][per} Members if we have offended anyone. We only hope that we can stay with the BF2 community for as long as we can. We love the game and would hate to abandon our Sniping Morals. One shot one kill is the way for us.
Admins,, Please close this thread. We have been contacted by our GSP and will comply to their directions.

That was a very thoughtful post. I must say that (as you may have seen) I have signed up for your forums and the members are very thoughtful. However, I don't understand why you folks simply de-ranked your server in order to run it the way you want it.
On another note, Mods have gotten a lot of attention these days, and PoE has some enhanced sniper features (e.g. 2 zoom factors). As mods are unranked, perhaps you should test things out with a Mod-server. BF2 is lacking in the sniping department and some of the mods (I'm thinking of PoE but there are a few good ones) have done great strides to enhance the experience of snipers. As a suggestion, try a mod for a week or so and get your (large) followers (no offense intended) to install the mod and try it on your server. I'll even join and snipe with you guys if you set up a PoE server.
I think you'll be amazed how much more fun sniping is with some of the mods. And since it is unranked inheritely, you may find more people willing to give it a shot, plus you don't have to worry about RoE.
My apologies if I caused more harm than I intended. I think perhaps a better solution (as BF2 is aging) is to simply allow all servers to be ranked (except passworded ones). I understand that it was a sniper lifestyle and I was not aware that you came into BF2 from another game where a RoE was not in affect. As the stat system is directly related to certain aspects of the game (commander selection, etc), it was only in casual gamers' best interest that EA do something to level the battlefield.
But that's not that I don't understand the complaints. You pay for the server. There's plenty of high-points servers out there that nothing happens to. You want to run a server that is fun for snipers, you don't want to stat-pad. That is very apparent now. Although it levels the playing field for stats server, it's still a dent in the community of a lot of people that love battlefield 2, since you folks seem to have brought a lot of folks from another game, and this is kind of a turn-off.
Un-rank it, un-ban me, and I'd be happy to play with you guys now that I've gotten to know you. But rules is rules (sorry to be mean)
