Rules:
· Sniping Only!
· No Teamkilling; if its an accident dont punish
· Stay on your Teams Side of the Map at all times
- MASHTUUR CITY - Dont pass the Ditch (16)
- FUSHE PASS - Dont pass the River (32)
- GULF OF OMAN - Dont pass the Train Tracks (16)
- DRAGON VALLEY - Dont pass the Lake (16)
· Commanders can only Drop Supplies for their Team
· Commanders cannot use Scan/UAV at any Time

I see alot of Sniper Only servers that have that rule. Its pretty fun to cross the map and knife rape them and hear them cry endlessly about it.

well i looked on their forums and the latest thread says that they switched to unranked. this was oct04 2006. yesterday and today it is ranked - maybe they just forgot to save the setting.

I once played on that server and they booted me because of crossing
Kinda boring/stupid because its fun to engage each other with knife/pistol/nades and the rifle...

I also played on that server and they were warning and then kicking people for using any kit other than the sniper kit. I remember reading somewhere that they had been reported already, because saying "sniper only" is the same as a k/p server.

16 player oman server. US has bottom 2 bases - MEC has top 2 bases. You are not allowed to cross the tracks to take the other teams' flag.

Didn't see much in BFRoE regarding restricting movement in this scenario.

Back when I used to play Black Hawk Down, we used to play on maps with similar rules for fun. It was a snipers only server; the obvious idea being to snipe at distance and not Close Quater Battle.

With BF2 and its never ending rules list, this does sound and seems to violate some sort of BFROE.

No. People on this server get LESS points per round, not more. Average is about 30-35.

Wow. I was in a Karkand server once where the admin was kicking the other team if they crossed the river. When he was MEC, he could go whereever he wanted. Same on US. When the OTHER team crossed the river... boot!

WAY off topic and nowhere near the case here. Admins are held to same standards as players.

I believe that's what ROE considers "high points". Limiting gameplay to make rounds longer

If you consider 30-35 points per round "high points". No one with more than a 3rd grade IQ would confuse this with stat padding or high points. Thats just the banner the whiners fly when they can't cheat. Reality is backed by server logs.

Don't bother with the "I'm an admin. cross the line" idea. your post has earned you a spot on the ban list. Wouldn't have worked anyway, there is a REAL admin on duty at all times and we know who the admins are. Nice try. BTW, your 3rd grade spelling and grammer are showing....

If you had paid attention you would know that you can do all the things you mention. Thats what happens when you charge first and read server rules last. What were you doing while the game was loading and the rules were staring you in the face?

Yes, that is EXACTLY what you are supposed to do. It is called SNIPING. Did you think the sniper kit was for running around trying to shoot ppl point blank?

Wrong. K&P servers are for stat padding and nothing else. The Sniper server was set up the way it is to have as realistic a sniper match as possible. The emphasis is on STEALTH and sniping. NOT grabbing flags and having a fragfest. Each and every rule was designed to enhance realism, not points or anything else.

I am sorry this is so long but it was the best way to set the record straight. There were a lot of posts about our server that were just WAY off mark. Not to mention a few smacktards that needed addressing. And so ppl do not get the wrong idea, I am not against the ROE, just the way it is interpreted and enforced. The ROE was implemented to ensure a fair playing field and cut down on the cheating and stat padding. If you read the rules of the ROE and look at the reason for each of those rules you will see that the sniper server is in no way threatening the spirit of the ROE. However, it is most often used as a tool to get back at our server by the ppl we kick and ban for cheating and not knowing how to act. EA is no longer going after K&P servers (The BIGGEST reason for the ROE) and has used the ROE to strip the ONLY sniper friendly server out there of it's ability to let people play the sniper kit.
