Right because they are basing the rifle and the whole game off of the real world....

I would like to see you accurately fire that weapon free standing.... You would probably miss by a few hundred feet and land on your *** in the process....

One poster has a HINT of a brain by stating that it is not the recoil... but the WEIGHT of the weapon that makes it difficult to fire standing up. A big man can do it... but it isnt easy supporting a 40+lb, front heavy load with one arm. It is also the WEIGHT that reduces recoil.

How about if we leave the "real world" comparisons to those of us that have real world experience?

The weight is what I first insinuated with the free standing accuracy...now the recoil is going to be felt a lot more free standing because of the weight....

While the a light fifty is a short recoil rifle that uses a recoiling barrel this does not mean it has NO recoil felt by the user...What I was alluding to is that that small amount of recoil coupled with the heavy weight and long length of the weapon would more than likely cause you to lose balance and fall...

Bottom line you would not want to shoot this gun standing PERIOD...

Also the weapon empty is about 28.4 lbs and it is not the weight that reduces recoil.... it is the short recoil design and the recoiling barrel that reduces recoil...god I hate idiots

Astonishing to see the lack of intelligence displayed in regard to real world weapons in the gaming community.

See that HUGE muzzle brake on the end of the rifle?

Most .50cal's don't kick any harder than a pump 12ga. with a 3 1/2" F shot in the tube. I've shot many many rifles... and there is not one that I've shot that will "dislocate your shoulder" upon firing it.

Not to mention the fact that anyone that knows anything about physics... would know that you get kicked LESS when you are standing up because your body moves with the impact. When you are proned out, or over sandbags on the shooting bench... you get kicked HARDER because you are more static... harder to move.

Try to excercise a little thought before you compare your mod to real life.

Yea really, don't you devs know that the gun weighs 14.75 kilograms (32.5 lbs.) then slap in another 5lbs of ammo and this quote from wikipedia tells me that according to those that use this rifle "M82 is much too uncomfortable to be carried on a sling due to its excessive length and heavy weight. It is usually carried in a special carry soft or hard case." So why are we not running around with these cases??? and even though virtually every picture on the internet you find of any military using this weapon or similar .50 cal sniper rifles are using it while they are laying on the ground does not mean that it should be that way in the mod!! We should be able to carry 2 .50 cals at a time and have health and ammo packs, with the most sprint in the game,...and the .50 cal should be able to easily take out tanks and planes in the air?

In conclusion you better "recognize" before you take 14 months out of your life working hours at a time modding a game so complete strangers can have a bigger expiriance free of charge for a game that is about to dump them cold turkey in October........what weer you "POE2" devs thinking anyway......only able to shoot a .50 cal prone.....bah....Ive have shot 4 .50 cals at one time before, welcome to the real world......UGH.....(all sarcasm)

The NTW-20 is different, it fires the 14.5mm or the 20mm, so I would guess alot more recoil.

Of coarse it can be fired standing, generally it would be shoulder mounted for taking out hard targets, but I think the POE guys needed to balance the .50 so they make you lie down.

It really depends on the model of 50 we are talking about....

They are dramatically different...

But yeah they dont have any recoil....LOL...Someone was forgetting about physics...hehehe
