Yep. EA UK forums have gone down and it's a pity really as it's probably because I posted over there what I posted here, and that's usually the place that we get the best (only?) official info from.

Click 'Ready to Install' in the EAD to convert to an .exe

I'll torrent it later on if I get confirmation that's it's 100% good.

Is noone out there able to give a definitive review of this patch? Is is the Beta or is it something different, i.e. the real deal?

Try making then read-only and then relaunching the EAD.

Then nothing

I've a fansub site .. I can hide the torrent from the public tracker so you can download the torrent here and then scrape on my server in stealth mode..

why would they update the ea downloader with the old version?

because the file is still called "1.4 patch" or whatever it's called. It wont be 1.43 (indicating that it went through 2 beta phases and a final release form.)

They probably got the downloader ready to install the final 1.4 without actually changing the file in the queue.

Cool. All I'll need then is the tracker but I really doubt that TotalBF2 will allow us to host a .torrent file to an EA patch here :)

I do, however, love the fact that so many of you are smart enough to figure out how to download the patch early yet too dumb to stop and consider if you should or not.
