Sometimes I fly solo and I heard that when you swtich to the gunners seat jets can't lock on to you but when I tried I got blown up did this work in a previous patch or something?

Well, heres ab example of my TVGM shot. I click "left" mouse and the screen freezes. I regain control of the TVGM while its about 50-100 metres in flight and I gte choppy and laggy picture with about 5-10 FPS. In other words. If the target is within 100 metres from me, I have one click, one chance.

I dont copilot the chopper unless I absolutely have to. I can manage, but only if I have a pilot that lines me up for perfect shots. I, at least, have some sense of respect for the game, my team and my coplayers that when Im challenged, hardware wise, I dont waste essential team item.

Yet Ive taken my time to get to know the basics of the copiloting in SP, just to not to be a moron using cannons on a tank...

Chris would you be kind enough to try something out for me and let me know if it works or not!?!Try this buddy: Start the game, go to Option, Audio, and turn it to Hardware instead of Software, join a server and let me know if the connection issues still happen.

That's like the thead about combining all 'noob' questions into one thread. That is the exact reason all forums are multiple threads... so people don't have to scroll through 40-50 pages to find an answer.

Agreed. However, my remark as well as yours has nothing to do with this thread. LOL People have a difficult time staying on topic once the thread is partially answered. Then it becomes a matter of "I'm better than you." But who cares, forums are for discussion and debate. No one is getting hurt here. The thread has been answered and it has shifted towards something a little 'less important.'

Im not sure.. but I do think I already have done it. You also have to remember that I only run with 512 MBs of RAM

That is your problem then.

Upgraded my sons computer from 512 to 1GB, it was like having a NEW computer. And it only cost about $60.

Indeed, and Ive aknowledged the problem. However the money is accumulated towards a notebook, and its going to cost some dough. Until then I just stay away from the gunners seat.

But personally, what I am missing is MG activity...
I recon you know the choppers behaviour pretty well while in co-pilot, and MGing is really not that far of a stretch now..

You have got to be joking me!!!! :shakehead:shock: 512 is recommended to run XP Pro properly :laugh::p. Go up to 1Gg, even 2Gb, it's an "investment" ( not that much ) that you won't REGRET.

1) Way too expensive to have all the resources you really need.
2) Even more expensive to upgrade something in it later-on if needed.
3) It heats up REALLY fast and after cumullative use, it will cause problems...:cry:

If you are looking for something new, just get a desktop!

To be honest, I rarely switch to MG the ground troops but I can incorporate it somehow. I never really thought of doing it seriously because I figured once I destroy the armor, infantry can go at it... but it might just be another layer of fun so I'll take a shot (heh) at it.

He's right: my notebook had an A64 3000, a Radeon 9600 Pro and 1GB of memory... and it still had trouble running BF2 properly. I'm sure the 5400RPM HDD helped. :laugh:

Your money is better spent on a proper desktop computer.

Im a college student, gentlemen. Notebook is great for those long and boring lessons watching great porn!

As for gaming, I hope there still ARE notebooks worth buying that will run BF2. I dont mind low graphics at all.

I bought my notebook 2 years ago for college... and one semester in, the teachers all started refusing them: I was taking my notes with that! Not that I went to class much (maybe 20% of 'em) but when I was there, geez... :P

I pissed off an instructor by making my notebook record the class while I slept. It was in voice activation mode to save space.
I suppose the fact that my instructor outranked me a bit could have made a difference.

Back on topic: How do you get the missiles to fire immediately? When I switch to TV there is always a delay before I can fire. This is independent of ping or FPS, as it does it at 30-120 ping and 50-95 FPS. Unless the act of going to the TV missile is causing a hit to my FPS...
