I've noticed it is popular to punish team kills. I really don't understand the concept since most TKs are a total accident.

What is the "punishment' suppose to do beside make the punisher look bad. Does it burn your stats or something?

I think your stats should include lifetime TKs and punish ratios.

Well it doesn't really "burn" your stats. It takes away 7 points while forgiving only takes away 4.

In some cases it just takes away -4 no matter the outcome. Punish or forgive; -4.

The -point and punish crap is just stupid, I dont know how many times Im flying down the road (in the middle of the road mind you) and some stupid jerkwad decides thats a good time to dart across the street and get tked, of course its my fault for not crashing into the wall and blowing up to save him so he punishes me. Just ignorant.

Another reason to just ignore the stats and worry more about winning.

LOL this actually happened once driving by the Hotel on Kark at top speed, ran over 4 guys who were just hanging out in the road wasting ammo and resuppling each other (Can anyone say Stat-padders), all 4 punished me.

Its almost only the new players that punish, because they believe you killed them on purpose

Abuse of PTK is forbidden on the servers I play in. Actually the one that PTK you and doing that 3-4 times get him kicked from the server.

Yeah way to many J walkers in BF2 who won't look both ways before they cross the street.

I don't punish, BUT if it's deliberate you will get the punish on the second and so on.
If you punish it only stuffs the game up for the rest of the team.
If you run over a friendly mine then DON'T punish me for it. I paste a nice big red cross on it for you so you can see it. Stay away from it.

I always punish...by accident. My finger is always on Page Up.

Punish does not affect your score. You get -4 for teamkill and -2 for teamdamage regardless you're punished or not. The punish system is a method for kicking smacktards from the server, and it's a server setting how many punished it takes to get someone kicked.

Yesterday I was playing on the Old Farts server when I had two instances where I got charged with TKs. First time I was defending a flag when a jeep of enemy troops pulled up. Toss a grenade at them and started blasting away with the PKM. Killed all three of them when another teammate spawned at the same flag. Vehicle was starting to burn and then exploded killing him. Of course he punished. Second time I was on top of a hill in the same round when a Cobra started coming my way. Shot a couple of stingers in it and jumped out to pump him full of lead. I ended up blowing up the chopper with my PKM when what was left crashed into a friendly troop. Luckly he problably realized what happened and didn't punish. I rarely punish anyone and if I tk someone it is always an accident. Pitty people don't look at the situation before hitting the button.

I give a three chanes on my Punishes. do it one time on Ac, Forgive, do it again, piss me off, but forgive, and the thrid time, Punish.
Also, If someone is asking to kick commander or another player, I use the three chanes.

well.....sometiems u punish on accident...i do it all the time..go for forgive but press page down..woops...but meh. deosnt do anything anyway. kinda pointless which menas people who use the good ol m95 to tk outta plane or somethign pretty much get away with it. and votes never work.

All you have to do is get out before you hit them, then you don't get the tk, and they still get killed.
