Well, maybe not 10 seconds but how long could it take to copy/paste a tiny bit of old 1.12 code over the flawed 1.3 code? -

I agree with everything except this.Originally posted by PlaneWhoreCan DICE implement it in about 10 seconds flat? Yes.

The more and more I think of this, the more I realise they SHOULD do this..Originally posted by PlaneWhoreI'm sure by plenty of people have heard that DICE "cannot" balance the J-10 (it's too hard). Incase you haven't read the exact quote:
So we've established DICE is having a hard time creating a solution but sadly they've always had the easiest solution right at their finger tips but choose to ignore it.
Revert air to air missiles (ONLY AIR TO AIR MISSILES!) to the 1.12 patch settings. This isn't some revolutionary concept. I've mentioned it before as so have countless other people. You've already done all the work for yourself DICE. The 1.12 missiles allowed for pretty decent balance between all aircraft and didn't make the air to air missile the almightly "I win button". The F-35B could evade the missile yet you could still hit the J-10 with them. Another benefit is it encourages pilots to use cannons in combination with the air to air missiles rather than just spamming the "never miss" missiles. Best part is it's just so damn simple. It's pretty much a no brainer DICE.
Is it the best solution? No.
Is it the easiest solution? Yes.
Can DICE implement it in about 10 seconds flat? Yes.
Will the J-10 still be the best plane? Yes.
Will it still be grossly overpowered undefeatable air superiority vehicle that is currently in 1.3? No.
Is reverting 1.12 A2A missile handling better than doing nothing because it's "too hard". Hell yes.
As far as I'm concerned with DICE Canada for them this is the way to go and while it might not be the perfect solution it will still get my stamp of approval for a valid agreeable alternative to a complete rework of the whole air to air missiles system and airplane handling characteristics.
Think of it..
No longer will the choppers have to worry about those J-10's that unload all 6 missles while going 300 mph...
There won't be any more "lock, shoot, forget" going from the J-10, to the JSF.
The J-10 will still be the best jet, but it will be a lot more balanced... Similar to the JSF/Mig...
IMO .... I really just think they should just do SOMETHING... anything... and INCLUDE IT INTO THE DAMN BETA!
What do they think the BETA is for!? If they don't have enough experience with jets....why... would they make it so that we can't test it? The opinions coming from the public would be very obvious... either you would have everyone saying "Wow DICE you fvcked up big time..." or just the occasional people saying they don't like it..
Right now, most people are just giving up on the BF series all together, and I am pretty much done.
I have been saying make A2A 1.12, and keep the current SAM's...for the longest time.
Sure there are negatives to it... but hey... it is the EASIEST thing to implement, and you already know it will be more balanced than it is now... so what the hell?Leave a comment:

It's a miracle.
Me and Chris finally agree on aircraft balance. Now I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this is the way to go.
Make it happen DICE.
Please do us all a favor (aviators and suffering USMC infantry on Wake 2007) and don't leave air to air balance and combat in its dilapidated state. It's bad for the players and more importantly for you is that it's bad for your bottom line.Leave a comment:

Easiest way for DICE to fix the J-10 imbalance

So we've established DICE is having a hard time creating a solution but sadly they've always had the easiest solution right at their finger tips but choose to ignore it.Originally posted by [B[DICE]CKMC[/b]] Hey Guys,
So we took a long hard look at this issue in relation to what we could try to do in 1.4.
We did some tuning to the J-10. Believe me or not most tuning we did actually made that lil sucker even more lethal (some people may have seen a server named 'J-10 Test' up within the last few weeks). Which brought us to the realization that if we were to do anything drastic to the J-10 it would likley ruin the vehicle unless we spent weeks in review and retuning.
We then reviewed what would be required to adjust the F35. The work and tuning and adjustment that would be required to try and bring the F35 up was roughly equal given the dual function of the F35 engine. I also received a crash course (har har) on hit box construction which helped me realize that this also would not be a simple adjustment and would also require weeks of adjustment and trial-and-error.
Long story short - This dynamic will not be changing in 1.4.
