Regarding players who play just for fun and don't go to the forums, ignorance of the law does not apply here. It would be like you walking into an establishment downtown like a restaurant or bar, all looks fine from the outside, but not knowing there are illegal activities going on inside and a month later you get arrested and fined just for having been there.

I disagree. When you intsall the game, you are presented with the terms of agreement. There is your chance.

In your argument there is no advance warning that the establishment is engaging in illicit activities. Now if the establishment had a plaquard on the front of the door telling everyone that entered that they do so at their own risk due to possible illict activities being purpetrated within, then your argument would be applicable. If you didn't read the note on the door and you walked in, then by default, you agreed to do so at your own risk.

The terms of agreement cover this whole debate. If you don't read them before you check "yes", then it is your fault. This is how contracts in the real world are written and executed. The onus is on the person that seeks to sign a contract or agree to terms to make sure said terms are in line with what that person is seeking to gain by signing the contract or agreeing to said terms.

So the whole argument about not knowing to visit forums or EA's website or reading the EURL or ROE is moot. You checked yes and in the end that is all that matters. If you don't like it, quit playing and delete your account.
thats the thing. no where in the contract says anything about the ROE.

The verbage in the agreement refers the user to EA's site for further explanation of any and all referenced materials in the agreement. Specifics are not required IF the contract/agreement reference outside sources and said sources are valid and comprehensive. EA assumes that by checking yes, you have done your due dillegence and therefore are informed about all of the facets of the agreement you just authorized.

Ha! I am not a lawyer either, but in the real world I do have to deal with some pretty heavy contracts and agreements.

Basically, a contract does not have to list every single point as long as the contract provides direction or references to all of the points. Since there was no time limit placed upon you to agree, EA is in the clear. You had all day to read the agreement and research every point contained within it before you said yes and installed the game.

I can not fault anyone that did not do that though. It is a video game, not a house loan. BUT, the whole point is that EA has the right to do what they want with the game and the stats. It is in the agreement and if you blindly checked yes, then you gave EA the ok. I know it sucks for some, but that is just how it is. If it truly bothers people enough, they can avoid EA or any other game company that operates in a similar fashion.

I disagree with stat resets unless it was caused by glitching i have no promblem with knife/pistol only servers or anything of the sort. if you dont want to be bothered by stats okay unraNKED SERVERS.

I have been told that it is in the EULA in which you click YES I AGREE to before you install the game....Yet no one reads this...

Let us not forget the rules system is only for RANKED servers...YOU do not have to USE a RANKED server...Thus why the offer UNRANKED servers....

You have a choice the way I see it... carry on

                        -edit

Also I believe all the EULA and everything else EA puts out has the "this is subject to change without notice" clause....thus making it all kosher

Ok I aggree but disagree...It's true you do have all day so to speak to read this aggreement and research it. However you only can read the aggreement after opening the package and starting up the program for install so if you do not aggree your out 50.00 basically. Because everyone knows with computer software after it's been opened you can not take it back for a refund. So it's kind of a catch 22 isn't it, damned if you do damned if you don't

I didn't pay 50 so I can rank up in a game. I paid 50 to have some fun with my friends. Couldnt care less about my rank. The only reason why I do give it a thought is because I can say "I own you" and my unlocks. What the hell would I do w/o them?

No. You simply don't get to accumulate stats. You can still play the game in single player and maybe even by setting your comp up as a local server and inviting people to come and play. The agreement is for the account, not the game. IF BF2 was only playable online, then you would have to be notified prior to purchase in order to avoid paying for something that you can not use. And to that effect, I think the game box lists the min. comp specs and internet connection requirements of the game to help people that either don't have internet or have sub par computers avoid purchasing a game that won't run as advertised due to the purchaser's limitations.
