Incredibly pathetic, given that the only people whos stats get reset are people who PAD non stop, so their stats are worthless anyway.

Looks like you have not been keeping up on all the threads on this forum, because there are a couple excellent community members on this very forum that have been caught up in the K/P servers that were not padding, but just happened to be on the server, caught up with the rest of the mix. They got their stats cleared.

If youre too stupid to see that its called "KNIFE AND PISTOL" on the server, you would take EA to court for resetting your stats? Thats what the thread starter stated...

true those are just excuses but he made a very good point about nothing telling noobs about the ROE in the manual,box or files. im sure that at least 1/3 of the people on K/P servers dont even know what they are doing is agains the rules. it is simply unjust for dozens of people with minor violations to get screwed over while people like Turbo Seal continue to statpad without consequence.

do they give you a warning when you break the law or do they arrest you? your breaking the law of the bf2 world and something you all need to understand, you dont own your account, ea does, what they say goes.

they are never going to shut down a k&p server, they pay their bills and the server providers protect their customers. since when does it take so long to load that if you realize your in a k&p server you stayed and played because it was such a tedious chore to load a new room? the server rules would say k&p while your loading, plain to see if you read the server rules then you simply hit esc and find a new one, simple as that. sounds like your making some pretty lame exscuses on why it should be ok to statpad or why you should get an ok too. may i suggest not loading into rooms that say k&p right in the server title and take a second to read the server rules while loading, youll learn alot if you just read. that whole "it takes so long to load the room so i just stayed and played" is total bullshiit.

Hell, Microsoft owns your soul first. If you run any windows OS, MS owns you.

Windows, BF2, CS, etc, once you OK to their EULA, they own you. LOL

As it is, unless you created the software yourself (and this depends on what you created the software with), you do not own it, you have just purchased the right to use it until they say otherwise.

Just use the software to have fun. If you are not having fun, find something else to do.

Getting your stats wiped isnt death... and nobody is getting executed for smoking pot... getting your stats wiped is a very gentle slap on the writsts...

Ya, but getting a mandatory 20 years in a federal prison for just possession seems more than just a 'slap on the wrists'. People will screw around against the things they don't like, and I feel they should be held account able, but I don't feel we need to just kill their stats because of it. That to me is a little execessive, and it is going to take a lot of work to convince me otherwise.

Im not saying that statpadding is right, but if u have over 100 hours on one game (like most of us do) i dont think u should get ur stats erased. But thats just my opinion....

i personally think it is BS. like ive said before they should target the servers themselves but they wont because the monthly bill buys them a pass. like i said before it is one of the things that is killing bf2. there so many other ways that the BF2 police could deal with u other than reseting ur stats with no warning and no chance to explain urself. cheating is wrong but i can live with it. if u obsess about people who cheat on an online game u should really find something better to do with ur time.

Getting stats wiped is clearly not discouraging the use of Stat-Pad servers... drawing connections between this and real life is simpe.

I dont give a crap about anybody's stats but my own. If some 13 year old from Holland wants to sit in an internet cafe knifing his friend Olaf while Sven revives him for 268 hours and gets a Major Ranking... good for him.

He never practices tactics, never learns the dynamics of the game, cant shoot moving targets, doesnt know the maps beyond the Hotel at Karkand, and simply isnt a threat to me.

I played on a Warlord server last night with a 2-star general and a few "Majors" and I could tell which ones were true players from the stat padders who got their ranks the easy way... some of them couldnt shoot their way out of a paper bag... no threat.

The symbol over your head means nothing to me if you are inept... Only time it pisses me off is when one of them gets Commander over me, lol

If you press the "Play now" button and a K&P server loads blame EA, Dice, both. These servers shouldnt be legal (they are not actually) but it is stuped to punish the users, EA/Dice should take action against these servers not the users. "Ranked" means guarantee that this servers protected from any abuse.... or at least it should mean that

I never have hit the "play now" button. If a knife/pistol server did load up, then that would be bad. Never really thought about that one.

I also am reluctant to believe that EA/DICE won't shut down k/p servers just because of the loss of revenue. I really think that it has more to do with time and manpower. The title of a server is not a good indication of anything as the server owners can use any name they wish. To truly go after those servers, someone would have to join the server and view the gameplay and scores to really know. That is why it is easier to go after the individual players. The stats are kept by EA and if a player gets reported, a simple look up can be done and the stats scrutinized. If the accusations match the stats, bingo!

I do think that if a server gets too many complaints for ROE violations that the servers should be dealt with quicker and removed from the rank system.

In the end, I just think that EA feels that placing enough people on as server police is not fiscally responsible when those people could be doing somthing else like working on BF2142 or Madden 07.

Simple you have TWO choices play RANKED and follow the rules or play UNRANKED and do what ever the hell you want...

No one is forcing you to play RANKED or UNRANKED...
