The players should read the EULA before checking the I agree button. It's EA's game and it's their ROE, all players and server owners are bound by it whether they choose to read it or not.

can you tell me where in the EULA does it says something about the ROE?

This is my opinion.

what is more important for a publisher is to sell. if they dont sale their company goes poo.
if they put the restriction in the game manual or the box many peopke wouldnt buy it. at the other hand they want to keep the comunity happy so they do it by reseting stats. when they first wrote the game and decited to have global stats they never thought that people would take advantage of their systems.(stats padders). so for me the best solution is to shut down stats and all the problems will go away.

I think he's partially right. EA and DICE did a terrible job of telling people which servers they can and cannot go on. I think if somebody if found to be on a KP/High Points server, they should receive an annoying pop up similar the the crap we get everytime we log on. If they persist, stats wiped. I mean sure they put that you can't play on these servers in the RoE, but a lot of people don't read that. Also, why are KP/HP servers allowed to exist? They aren't taked down, nor are the admins punished, but they players are? Double you tee eff?

Play on unranked servers, pretty simple

Thanks for the info Indianscout however I'm sticking to my guns on this one. There are too many people that do not know about these rules of engagment to just put it off to the legal mumbo jumbo that is contained in all that fine print. It is there and I understand the information it contains..

However looking at it from a customer standpoint EA could easaly put on the cover of the game read BF2ROE before play or something to that effect.

What they should do is like what ever kit u play and abuse it they should have the rewards take for that kit or weapon and have there points wiped till before they abused the kit.

Nope, I just can't believe that an BF2ROE is out there and it's not advertised with the game.

I mean come on can you imagine a US ARMY rules of engament that the soldiers are suppose to follow but are not aware of???????


What kind of army would that be? Could the ARMY hold the soldier liable if they were not given an ROE or at lest briefed ect. ????

Only when I think it needs it's own thread. Read the thread loud mouth no one said anything about not liking the rules. It's about making the people aware of them. K&P who said anything about that? get a life real disscussion is wanted here.......:hmm:

I tell you people what, I Understand this whole BF2ROE stuff and aggree with it as far as it's a guideline to try and add some more rules to the multiplayer communmity however.

I think that anyone who gets their stats reset because of playing on a server that is not in the eyes of some of you ok, is STUPID. I mean come on people did BF2 say anything about this so called BF2ROE on the package or in the .dat files or in the so called user manuel?

NO so why should someones stats get reset when people are not notified in advance.

Tell you what I havn't gotten my stats reset however many of us have unknowingly entered a server only to find out it was a knife or pistol server and because we waited so long to load we stayed and played a bit. Tell you what if I ever do get my stats reset because of my unwanted knife or pistol episode ........this one would make it to court because thats just plain stupid. If ea wants to stop the crazyness then get rid of the servers all together. Ban the servers, fine the server owners but do not mess with you hard working everyday player who invested good money and normally had no idea of what they were getting themselves into when joining one of those servers.

i think the point the op is stating is,players that are new to the game of bf2(regardless if ea owns the game/rules ect)

the normal player that does not read/visits forums and nows about the roe will most likly play in k&p server with out proir knowledge thats its illigal.

imo it should be written in the latest patches as a readme or something so all online players now this.

reading a similar thread i hear that something is being done to ranked serverver providers that host K&p /high point servers.

but i have no idea what this is.

a buddy of mine who plays alot of differnt online games recently got bf2 (i made him get it :) ) i checked his stats one day and noticed he had alot of pistol kills and knife when i asked him if he had been playing on K&P servers he said yeh "why?" i then explained to him it was illigal and to stay off them.

this is a prime example of alot of new players would not no what roe was let alone k&p is not allowed.

You hit the nail on the head it dosn't bother me so much if people are aware up front that the BF2ROE has to be followed or ELS ....however if they are new or are part time players they may not know of this information.That is what is destrubing.

Hell I didn't even look up forums until I already had 15,000 + points or so. I was one of those that also didn't know...... thank goodness I did read and get updated or I too may have been reset like many others for venturing in a server that seemed interesting and fun
