What are you talking about??? there are a number of spawn points (at least 5) in an uncap main and spread out. It's very easy to fight back.

What's the difference if you get killed while spawning there or at any other flag?

    .
If you get killed by a tank in a UCB, spawn back as Spec ops, BOOM!! it's dead.
If he is moving around to much, have a team mate spawn back with you as AT and BOOM BOOM it's dead. It might take a third shot, but pubbers don't like to die and I always see them hopping out of a damaged tank and giving it to the enemy, either way the tank is no longer a threat.
If you can't take a tank out in two spawns, well, what can I say? Not my problem.

It's a double edged sword on Sharqi:
It's wrong for USMC to camp MEC's help spawn area, but it's perfectly fine for MEC to camp out USMC's helo spawn pad on the TV station? Talk about double standards. That's one reason why I think the rule is absurd.
A rule about excessive camping is fine, and would satisfy my point, but not being able to attack an uncap when the enemy is doing something equally as lame is just ridiculous.
If you are on a good server with a few quality players that helo wont last long there spawning the TV station.

But back on topic for a moment... are there any recognized and defined boundaries of a UCB? Does 100 meters count as being far enough away, or 200?

In other words, if a guy runs away from the uncap, how far does he have to go before he is fair game? Until that gets defined, all this enforcement of "no attacking the UCB" is completely subjective, unpredictable, and basically just a bunch of garbage.

Those of you who are real Oman experts will note that my sig-pic below is on Oman, at the MEC airfield. There's Mr. Mec trying to hunt me down, way out at the far end of the runway, about 200 M or more from the UCB point. Is that spawn-camping? No. Is it UCB-attacking? Could be argued either way. And that's the problem.

Solution? Use the whole map, and 86 the whining.

A lot of peoples definitions of "fair", "statpadding", and "attacking" vary so much it's not possible to make an argument that can stand up to the least inquistitive or logical retort. That's my point, the same goes during game play and this creates a rift and bad feelings.

I hate planes I can't shoot down that contiually bomb my vehicles.

At this point I'm arguing for arguments sake, because it's just so easy to shoot everything down. Like the AA pilots claim isn't being used correctly
Man, they even say this in the intro-video for the game: "We're wasted."

Some kind of a comment from one US guy at the Oil Cisterns at Daqing Oilfields.

My point is that there are so many different factors, for the different teams. Unfortunately, most newbeginners prefer the US, like I did in my first months of playing BF2. Then, after a while I got used to the guns, capped flags, and whored tank on the large maps.

Then I found out most maps are heaven for MEC/PLA to overrun US completely. It is not only a rule of gameplay I'm discussing, I'm also taking into consideration that most skilled gamers therefore join the oposition-forces.

The worst examples of good maps getting ruined by noobs that dont know how to get a flag is: 1) Wake 2) Dalian Plant 3) Dragon Valley and 4) Operation Clean Sweep.

What is wrong is the noobs taking the pilot-seat in the transports, doing EVERYTHING completely wrong. Then secondly, on these maps 29 retards spawn at the same level and location, then me which is 30, and ofcourse 2 or more lamejoin to get the J10 AGAIN.

If only DICE had implemented slay on teamkills on spawn, then maybe we could get a little furher. But of those 29 retards waiting with me for jets/helis, ofcourse some completely clueless noob grabs the support-tool of his team (READ: Either Jet, og Heli), which makes the operation to force the team back to carrier an much more easy target for the opositions helicrew, and aviators.

This could have been solved if there were a tutorial for taking ESSENTIAL hardware. What is exactly what it is. One man, one man, can all alone make his team loose, because of his lack of skills.

Then again, the deadzones of the Essex AA-guns, just requires a short learning period to understand how to attack. It is so simple flaeres is not necessary to use. One steady hand can easily take out the AA before it's within lock-range.

Then you have the ridiciless low heat-signature of the J10, whick makes it impossible to hit. It is so damn easy to pilot.

The bombs: If you shoot out the hardware with machinegun, you can so easy place each bomb on each spawn, in one run. There is aproximately 6-8 men on each spawn, so count for your self. I do this myself on Wake as US, also that takes more skill then that ridicilous carrier. It's just a cruise for retards, that's what it is.

On Dalian Plant, they have managed to place a AA-gun on the Arty Island, which makes it possible for "the Cow-crew" to take out every Blackhawk heading east. Oh, but smart helipilots go high. Well, so they are also out of range of Essex-gun, so J10 can even take'em out with MG in 400mph.

The China airfield at Dalian Plant is wide open in all directions for any stupid JSF-pilot, trying to continuosly raping them. 2 AA guns with perfect view.

J10 respawns within 30 seconds, and it's over a minute for the JSF. Which gives the J10 ability to rearm EVERY time the JSF spawns.

I normally quite easy take out noob rapers trying take me at spawn on the carrier. And also doesn't have to much trouble with taking down the J10 when I'm in the F-35. But I have a little more reasearch and experinece with all these jets, then 95% of the retards that spawns on that carrier, taking those jets.

So, I somehow agree wiht you, raping isn't that bad. But under these conditions, with all these lamejoiners. Forget it. I don't rape even if I can, it takes no skills, it has no honour, and is disrupting the experinece of playing for all those small "happy meals" running round like chickens wherever they are.

You are tired of getting bombed? Oh, if pilots do what they are supposed to do, you will never be hit more then one time per round. I think my average kills per round is aobut 20. But I do camp a lot. A regular round I go 30-40 kills. This experinece you have of being bomed, more likely is a result of what you are posting yourself.

Well, I dont respect spawn/base-rapers, and I dont respect J10 pilots.

Ok, that was an incredibly hard post to read. I think you only touched on the subject of this post near the end and I'm really not sure what your position is on the issue.

Re: Why is attacking an uncap bad?

It comes down to the age old saying, "You can please some of the people some of the time. You can please all people some of the time. You can never please all people all of the time."

Honestly, ever since I started playing competatively in BF2 (fairly recently), Im finding less and less sympathy for tactics that are frowned upon (dolphin diving, prone spamming, spawn camping [but not blocking as thats not tournament legal anyway], main base attacking, etc).

OH I must also mention that there are defensive weapons planted on ALLLLLL of the uncappable flags. Usually TOWs are at UCB which, unless you pixel aim (also frowned upon), are completely useless if camping them isnt allowed.

This kind of kills the whole theory that "EA/Dice didnt intend for it to be used/played this way".

Re: Why is attacking an uncap bad?

I remember when I was first playing the demo, my main tactic was as follows.

                1. Spawn as Sniper on the USMC team.

                2. Head to the MEC airfield and camp in one of the two bunkers, or on top of the grassy hill overlooking the base.

                3. Rack up the kills as people remained completely oblivious as to where the shots were coming from.

I don't see anything wrong with attacking uncapturable bases - it annoys me when servers enforce silly rules to make life easier, instead of adapting and overcoming certain threats.

A tank is camping a flag? Spawn as an AT.

Enemy commander constantly using artillery on your airfield? Use a Spec Ops to blow his reources up!

                Easy.

Re: Why is attacking an uncap bad?

Base camping rules are sad. It makes the enemy forces too effective at defending and results in rushing you into death. Specially when you start from the carrier.

Also it made DICE believe that everything is fixed and everybody is happy while they should beef up the base defenses. That Essex should be feared by air but it's nothing but a pee shooter and an easy kill.
