I agree almost with everything, especially with the AT score mode tweak, Im sick of helping my team taking out those armors and no reciving any points!, because takes lots of shots and when you manage to take out the tank you realize that the driver bailed his arse out of the armor =(

Fixing the ghost bullet would be a good thing to add, I think that might be why it seems you can unload an entire clip into someone, or like 6 shots point blank with a DOA and not kill them.

          4) Add a vehicle TK discouragement/vehicle fair sharing system - As a pilot who has experienced my fair share of this I'm especially motivated to curb this type of behavior. The solutions would be as follows: If a player teamkills another player they cannot enter helicopters, airplanes, tanks, or APCs for a period of about a minute. This will completely stop the TK for a vehicle mindset as it will no longer be a valid option. Secondly to prevent vehicle "hogging" add a short 1 second delay on entering a vehicle that you have just died in. An example of this would be a pilot dies.. back at the airstrip if another player was waiting for the vehicle he'd be able to enter it before the previous pilot. Finally... get rid of teamkills created by running people over with aircraft.. it's lame and unnecessary. In all my time playing BF2 I have yet to witness an aircraft intentionally running players over (as if it was even possible). These simple changes would eliminate the vast majority of griefing and TKing that occurs around and for vehicles.

So let me get this right, when a noob jumps/stands in front of my plane because I beat him to it, while I'm taking off or trying to, I now am locked out of getting a vehicle? There is only 1 way to ge around the TK thing, play on a good server where admins frequent.

Second point would be inflated stats, now if you are so worried about what other peoples stats look like then i think you need to go play some other games without stat systems to try remember that the game is suppose to be fun.
I'd rather not rehash the same old points over and over again so if you'd like my precise reasoning it's in my post history. Suffice it to say I think it'd be bad for Battlefield 2 as a whole and thus I included it in my list of essential gameplay changes (or in this case preventing it). I don't have a problem with it being unranked though because then it'll be a huge flop and nobody will play it and thus wouldn't negatively impact the other servers

My game runs fine too with a 7600GT @ 1920x1200 medium/high settings but it ran better back in 1.12. Doesn't effect every system or graphics card but it's reported by so many players it most definately exists and is a real problem for a lot of people with lower end systems who really depended on those frames that seemingly dissapeared. The BF2 engine is so damn clunky.. I mean the programmed the server browser in flash FFS. I always appreciate good gaming engines like the Source engine after playing BF2. Great game.. terrible engine.

This isn't from the perspective of a helicopter pilot but rather somebody who kills a lot of helicopters using the 50cal with laughable ease. I always feel bad when I start blasting them from my dime a dozen vodnik/HMMV when half way across the map and destroy them easily before it overheats. The only way they survive as long as they do most of the team is pure incompetence on the enemy team. My main point is a Vodnik or HMMV shouldn't be able to kill a helicopter from full health before an overheat.

Maximum range of what... 10 miles? TOW missile was never intended to streak half way across a large map and destroy a helicopter before it can take off. It was meant as a powerful defense vehicles approaching or attacking the flag the TOW is located at. Pixel shooting is just an exploitation of the original intention of the TOW.

You seem to be in the minority with that opinion. Most of the competetive players absolutely hate the change as it caused the mass migration of a lot of CAL players to new games (I could really care less about them but I thought I'd point it out). I hate it from both a balance standpoint and a convienence standpoint. In a way squad hopping was just another element and it took practice and coordination to have all your squad but X person leave and rejoin quickly enough to make it effective.

Good constructive counter points though, I enjoyed reading and responding to your post Twisted.

Incorrect. As I did mention completely removing the ability for airplanes to teamkill with a roadkill. But it would also be worth mentioning that it certainly wouldn't be a bad idea to disregard the "vehicle lock out" to players who are currently in a vehicle and teamkill (accidental or not). This would prevent issues like an engineer in a tank running over a teammate on accident, getting damage, hopping out repair, only to find that he cannot re-enter his tank after finshing repairs.

Exactly, so if a chopper is kicking some ***, which regardless of what someone thinks, it does require skill to do that, and half the server just changes to AA, which already happens with anti tank, then your f@cked

Ok look genius, your not getting the picture. Cars with .50 cal machine guns, PKM's, Sniper rifles, Eryx, Stingers, and Linebackers all take shots at helos. Theres 5 stingers on ghost, all of which can reach you on the far edges of the map, 2 linebackers, and the map isn't big at all.. Yes its possible to dodge most of them. Look at my K/D Ratio in the helo its not like I suck you fool, I have no problem kicking ***, but even a skilled chopper pilot like myself can't dodge everything. Its a AI controlled stinger ffs. You can't always dodge that. Then you have 10 or 12 eryx flying up randomly at you, snipers taking shots at you, its kind of hard to to fly when every person in the game is putting their whole clip into you. You say it like I have no experience with the helicopter at all. When thats all I do is fly now days. Now you know whats even worse then all that **** shooting at you, having that slide show bug while its happen... Which BTW EA HAS NEVER FU@@@@@ FIXED!

So yeah lets just give infantry stingers, maybe balence planes but its gonna be hell for helicopters. Helos are luck as is now. Sometimes you can do fine, but others you get raped by 2 stingers, and a linebacker. So its a chance game, no matter how good I fly, you can't advoid an AA missile all the time.

And for the record, I fly tons around ghost town after the 1.2 patch, and have yet to be shot down by AA.

Yes, you may have to die more than once a game, and thats a scary thought for attack helicopter whores, but get used to it!
Dude I doubt you fly on ghost and have never been shot down once. Your lieing, don't lie to people. If your as good as your acting hopfully you'll see me in-game sometime and we can go head to head, and see who has more experience.

As for helicopters in general, Vanilla you don't have a gunner, and you hate solo tv guiding because of what a cheap tactic that is, then your probally not going to do so hot. Those missiles are weak, and unless you've got a gunner either with voip, or ts your not going to do to good, and most of the time the gunners you do get suck, and don't even know to move their cannon from side to side. Atleast in SF you can fire a missile next to someone and watch them go flying up in the air, which is what would happen if one of those missiles landed near you on the cobra. They are the same missle except a hair smaller, they still blow up on impact, and a person standing next to one wouldn't live.

I can fly vanilla but I usually come out with a score of 80 points, no kills and 3 or 4 deaths. You know why, because the gunner I have gets most of the kills. Which is kick ***, because thats team work, but I could do some more damage if my helicopter wasn't nerfed so that a piece of fuzz touching it don't take half its health away. They nerfed the Vanilla attack helos down to 8, and then nerfed the SF ones. My opinion on this, the vanilla helos need 14 missiles, the SF helos are fine with just 8 as of now.

A good idea though would be like someone said with the planes, give each helicopter a better attribute. Like a longer TVGM for one, or something like that for example.

                +Added Fix SF Helicopters
Fix the SF helicopters so that you aren't lagging on some maps, and having to rejoin/restart the game. The slide show bug as I call is annoying. Its where your FPS are fine, until you jump into the cockpit of the helicopter, and take off and then its a slide show. It isn't anything to do with PC specs, because sometimes its fine, others its a slide show. Its most common on Surge, and Mass Destruction. I've gotten it on Levithan, and Rarely on ghost. Sometimes its a small performance decrease flyable but a pain, others its just a mess and everything jumps around. It doesn't go away after one round, the only way to try to fix it( I say try it doesn't always work), is to restart the game.

6-I could give a **** about new game modes to be honest.

7-Maybe one point for every 2 hits, 1 for each hit would make it pretty damn easy to rack up points.

10-Dude, you are facing some BAD pilots then. It's not hard to own a vodnik or Fav in a Cobra. Dude, in addition the current staitionary AA is like just asking for a death if you are facing a good pilot and gunner. Maybe lower it by like 10%, that's it.

14-Engineer points are Saved already during a round. I've gotten repair points on the first bar of things all the time when I repaired a lot of something else before.

All the others I completely agree with. However, none of them will happen.

That would be nice, the there would be to many non-airfield situations the people would get screwed in.

The best way to stop it is painfully simple: People can not be team-killed in aircraft. We have FF options for mines, why not for people in planes?

I completely agree with almost every point in this list, and strongly believe that they would improve gameplay.

My only complaint is the suggestion of doubling the Assualt's armour.. bit overboard.
Also, rather than affect the damage of the 50. cal, just take away its perfect accuracy. The only reason these things are so exceedinly deadly is because of the pinpoint accuracy. Even a small amount of deviation would reduce it's use for spawncamping/heli-mauling, while still maintaining it's effectiveness at close range if the pilot's stupid enough to get that close.

I know from experience Vodniks and HMMVs can be difficult for a helicopter pilot to pinpoint, while the 50cal shooter can see the helicopter the second they reach maximum view distance with a nice silhouette against the sky (the 50cal will pretty much always see the helicopter first). They can't hear the rounds coming so you can do about 25% of a helicopters health before they start to do anything and you can continue to shoot them and usually kill them before they get out of visual range (even past that actually because I've continued to fire in to the fog and finshed off plenty of helicopters that way). With the accuracy and power of the 50cal the only limit to how fast you can kill a helicopter is your aim. Now that's just 1 50 cal. Take that and put a couple of people in them, now add in AT rockets launching up at you, tanks shell and machine guns coming at you, an APC gun firing at you, a few snipers with M95s taking a bar+ off a shot and then to top it all off an AA post or two firing at you.

Calling it simply a "transport vehicle" is not doing the blackhawk justice. It's not some defenseless mule lumbering in to battle as it has a pair of miniguns FFS. That's what was always so cool about the pre-nerf blackhawk when used properly. You take it down to a flag as some of the troops bail out to capture. The minigunners stay in the bird as the pilot continues to circle the area and provide covering fire to the people on the ground. When the flag is captured the BH lands, the troops get back in and they fly off to the next objective. As of right now the most you'll ever see out of the blackhawk is a couple random newbies hopping in it, flying over an enemy flag and bailing out to capture it (leaving the useless BH to plummet to the ground). Why bother with the cumbersome blackhawk miniguns when your own medic rifle does a comparable job of dispatching infantry? I can agree though the MEC/Chinese transports should also get a small bit of splash damage added to their transport guns as well to balance things out.

That's me talking as both a player who loves to fly the blackhawk and encounter and deal with one. I remember some of my most memorable moments playing infantry revolve around being at the recieving end of a blackhawk offensive. Dodging minigun fire while trying to kill the troops parachuting on to the flag. Maybe that's just me.. but I enjoy that kind of challenge from the standpoint of infantry. Not to mention nothing quite as satasfying as firing off a couple well placed rounds and shooting the offending minigunner right out of his seat.
