    Re: Anti tank BS.

Its catch 22 m8 if they increase splash so he takes damage when he fires half a foot away from your apc..
AT class will then become god like with there one shot multi death kill.. as it as uber splah damage.(think noob tube but with sniper precision.)

    *a little off topic *
Id love to see it so if u blast a rocket into a room everything gets killed or at least comes out the room dazed as hell and missing a few vital body parts..

But the way the battle field engine works if u make it have splash to that degree...whats stopping someone firing it at the feet of a squad out in no mans land and just take them all out...

While for the most part I agree AT is NOT overpowered... I do think vehicle explosions should be a little more splashy, so when one is one fire and about to blow, you need to clear the area or suffer serious damage.

AT overpower!!!! WTH, are you on crack. One shot from the cannon, AT dead, One shot from machine gun that’s fixed at head level, AT dead. Explosive rounds from APC killing people that are hiding, 2-3 shots while APC takes no damage. 3-5 shots from AT at tank, Maybe it will die, if there isn't a gay supply crate sitting close by. For those armor whores who think the AT is overpowering, get out of the tank and use it then, stop tank whoring.

The AT is a great kit, I have gone 25-10 with this kit and not using the missiles as sniper. The P90 is great gun, if used correctly. Single shot is very accurate but low damage. Up close the burst fire rate cant be beat.

So to all the tank whores out there, STFU and die a fiery death in your metal coffin. MUHAHAHAHHA

Well you just won't be able to control more things. As in reallife. Just what two mice or two track balls and the buttons on them would allow. You'd have to take you hand off your virtual weapon to do some things. Which things would be up to how you map your keys.

It's just a thought I've always had when people start throwing around the realism hot potato. Since there are never two cursors in any O.S I doubt it will happen anytime soon.

The better I get at AT though I do have some feelings for those in tanks. If I can get a few rounds in (poorly placed ones) early, from long range as they approach I can deal with tanks to certain degree on some maps.

I don't find it the hardest kit probably because I gravitated to it immediately. But I suppose with the zoomed views on a second weapon and no nades, it could be the hardest to figure out, simply because it has more elements to it. Albeit only one or two.

Dude no holy crap the AT kit is awesome. I got like 30 points in the first half of a match, but then the game crashed  but seriously it's actually pretty easy to kill tanks. Doesn't even take much practice. The SMG is actually pretty good, you just need to know how to use it. So all the tank whores complaining, do yourself a favor and stop breathing.

                Re: Anti tank BS.

Don't think anybody mentioned this, but the OP claims that anti-tank rockets are overpowered compared to real life. That's the part that struck me as being totally on crack.

IRL, those USMC A/T rockets are one-shot killers on any Soviet-era tanks, especially the T72. Read that again: 1-shot kill. Not three shots, and maybe you'll get lucky, not five shots if the guy's parked near a crate. One shot, and any hit in or over the center of the tank... *poof* the turret does a frying-pan flip into the air.

A fix I'd really like to see is giving the tanks and APCs separate driver and gunner positions. That would cut down on the armor whoring massively, plus it would bring armor into alignment with all the other vehicles, like attack choppers, vodniks, jeeps, and boats, all of which need two players to move and shoot their main gun simultaneously.

As it is, giving the most heavily-armored vehicles in the game the unique capability of being able to drive and fire the main gun with only one player onboard, is much of the source of how overpowered they are, and why those slimeball tactics like spawn camping with armor make so many players fly into a rage.

That's a really good idea BlueBunny. It would also promote teamwork.

Team work?? Whats that? That concept is unheard of in BF2!!

Yeah it's unfortunate but it could at least stop the unbalanced flow of points to one person sitting in their treaded, armored box with a BFG (big ****ing gun) spawncamping the alleyways in Karkand.

Couldn't agree more. AT is way underpowered when compared to RL. Another thing is that when firing at the front of a tank, in RL, if you know you can't penetrate the frontal armor, you can go for the tracks and imobilize it. The only imobilized tank I have seen in BF2 is one in a swimming pool.

At definetly does not need to be nerfed. I am no stranger to armor-whoring, however, I will be the first to admit it gets out of hand.

I believe what he is trying to say is that in real life it takes 3 people to do what one person does in BF2, not 3 rockets. One guy holds the launcher, another guy loads the rocket from behind, and the third guy...dunno what he does, probably just sits back with a beer and shouts, "Nice shot, 'ol chap!!", or "bugger, you missed the damned thing".

Or just carry ammo and guard the guy with the launcher; I'm sure one man doesn't carry 5 AT rockets. I would certainly trade those 5 rockets for 1 or 2 if they were usually a one-hit kill though. (I've spent about half my time as AT; trying to diversify a bit in the last few months.)
