Erm... It doesn't say that. It says that the Chinese hear rumours that the MEC have done that. That doesn't make it fact.

But I agree with most of the rest of your post. A real shame that the storyline has been changed because some people thought they had a right to tell someone living in a free democracy what he could and couldn't say. Whether the original storyline is offensive or not, it shouldn't be censored. Free speech is one of the cornerstones of Western democracy. Congratulations to all those who want to errode it.
