So tell me is lets say a high point server is the server title, and it runs a 64 player map with 16 players, the round lasts a long time, but you are able to use anything and everything, is that against the rules?

My god... what an ignorant fool.

RANKED servers are bound by the rules. And youre a customer, also bound by certain rules. If you use "illegal" service, your "earnings" will be "taken".

      Simple really.

If it's just a title? No..not against the rules.

It all depends on what goes on INSIDE the game.

Shouldn't the Server Owner be punished in someway, instead/aswell as the player? If so, what happened to the Server?

If the fact that someone is on a server is enough to get them wiped, yet the server itself is still in business, it says one thing: money talks, and EA listens.

And please, no garbage about "needing time to review the situation" or "the need to discuss the issue with the server owner and take appropriate action". If the problem is serious enough to take hundreds of hours of a player's achievements and toss them out the window, it's serious enough to tell the server owner that his $250 is appreciated, but he's no longer welcome to run ranked BF2 servers. Pull the plug immediately, no questions asked.

I've trolled these forums for a long time, before I registering, so I hope this doesn't reduce the validity of my comment.

I don't see the difference of having a 32 player server that runs 64 player maps and a server that is 64 players and is only half full? The only difference I see is, the 64 player server has the potential to become full with 64 players, but what if the admins reserve 32 slots for friends or clan/teammates? That in effect makes a 64 player server a 32 player server with 64 player maps. How can EA/Dice demand what maps admins can and cannot play? To punish a person that plays on a server that has 32 players or less with 64 player maps doesn't make sense to me.

Oh well, nice discussion. I hope someone from EA/Dice is reading this.

You need to go back and read the posts in this thread. He wasn't reset for just being on a high point server. He was punished along with others for playing on a server that restricted using certain vehicles such as armor.

I couldnt agree more. why would EA wipe a players stats for how the admin is running the server? I can understand wiping someone that knowingly plays on P/K servers or is stat padding, but if an admin is kicking people for using vehicles how does the player have any control over that? EA should be going after the admin.

Re: [MyIS]Spetsnaz stats and high points servers

                      Indian,

In all honesty, I think you need to contact whoever created the ROE, and explain that it needs to be WAY more specific.

On the old bfroe forums, one of the moderators explained that a server which runs a 64 player map, but only has 16-30 people in it is 100% PERFECTLY FINE to run and play in. The only problem would be if the server limited a certain class, weapon, vehicles, or did not allow players to cap certain flags. As a matter of a fact, you stated that in your above post.

Therefore, by definition of a TRUE high points server, they are NOT breaking the ROE. With that being said, I believe this part of the ROE needs to be more specific, as in stating High Point servers are "illegal" when admins place limitations. When searching for a server, there are MANY servers which have "HIGH POINTS" somewhere in the name. I don't really think the BF2 community wants people going around reporting LEGIT high points servers . . .

I also think it's ludicrous that the PLAYERS get reset for a servers wrong doing. If the server states "Pistol/Knives" and a player joins - sure, then they have the potential of being reset. However, if a player was to join a server, and 3 rounds into the game the admin changes it to "No armor" (or any limitation for that matter), as long as one leaves the server during THAT ROUND, he should NOT be penalized, as he had no awareness that the admin was going to advocate such rules. If the player continues to play on the server, then once again, THE PLAYER did break the "rules".

I remember how BF2 was supposed to REALLY be open to the new comers of the community. It was supposed to be a game that someone can walk into Walmart and buy, install, and be able to play it with ease. The stats system was RECONSTRUCTED for these players so they wouldn't get discouraged that they needed 10,000 more points until their unlock. However, now the ROE is saying that be entering a server, you have the possibility of being reset. It simply doesn't make sense. The way the RoE is now, it's very possible not every player even knows of it's existence. There are many games I play which I do not visit online communities. Basically, if when I open the box and read the manual, or when I read the games disclaimer, if it doesn't mention anything about RoE, I'm not going to be aware of it. Which in this case, BF2 does NOT advertise the RoE, other than going to third part message boards and discovering it for yourself. The RoE needs some pretty major revision for it to be taken as seriously as some do, including the [BFMP]

Realize that I'm not attacking you, nor who people call the "BF2 police". I'm simply stating, as a player; the RoE isn't specific enough, and in some cases presents more confusion than closure on certain issues.

im wondering. Then why are players banned from these servers. Shouldnt EA take it upon themself to remove the server. Not the player? i only do hight points for IAR badges. Otherwise i find them not as fun. But is it cause you had 285 pts that you got your stats wiped?

I think EA resets the players stats and then shuts down the server. They do both. I dont kno why, but were dealing with EA here so no one really knows there intentions.

Re: [MyIS]Spetsnaz stats and high points servers

This is exactly what I'm trying to get across. You're penalizing the player for doing what he is supposed to do . . . play on a server.

Like I said above, unless the RoE gets advertised a LOT more, then reseting players in pistol and knives servers is acceptable. However, to reset a player on a "normal" server, which for ONE round the admin limits the players to something specific . . . it's obscene.

This is just a video game. The stats system is just to brag to your friends. Tehre are no monthly contests regarding the stats system, and players do not receive ANYTHING for their stats. There is simply no need for this much enforcement.

The RoE should be MUCH more concerned with hackers and exploiters which RUIN the game for others.

As far as having 285pts as a BR score . . . That's nothing, in all honesty. On a 24 player/64map server, players score even HIGHER, especially if they're commanding on the winning team since you get the x2.

EA is making a new webpage with the ROE and the reporting programs listed on it. I dont as of yet if they will have me make any revisions to the ROE yet..

My concern is that I have found myself on such servers without even realizing it at first. I mean, they say they are high point servers, but they don't mention anything in the game about not being able to use tanks, apcs, planes, etc., etc. I didn't know that until I found myself being kicked for driving a tank. Nothing in the game said I couldn't. Am I to understand that I could possible end up getting my stats reset for playing in such a server, not knowing that doing so could cause my stats to be reset?
