It's more than long enough for my use.

I agree, I haven't had a problem with it since it has ben changed, that being said I haven't been playing all that much as a gunner, but enough to gain a decent amount of understanding and skill with use of TV Guided.

It would be good if the TV Missile distance was further, I know they took it away because of dumbasses exploiting or using the chopper on USMC to hit the MEC chopper from a landed posistion on the radio station etc.

ya they nerfed it, and now its not even an issue because people can hit the mec pad with the Sharqi hotel tow. whats next? nerfing the tow?

Nah, effective distance is like 450 meters (probably a bit more).

With this, you still can TVGM out of nowhere, beyond the range of AA's... Good enough for me.

LOL as if the reduced range of the TV missile did hurt competition when it was nerfed...

Especially the C4 chucking and the TV missile nerfs were welcomed by the competition community.

For all the bitching done, I don't think the competitive community cared one way or the other, top teams then are top teams now. And that's my point, it didn't "fix" anything. As far as helos go, it's still a race to see who can get the first missle off and hit, whether it's on the pad, or in the air the better crew wins.

they should keep the distance the heli's missles can shoot now (or shorten it) and make the chopper drop faster for those players who fly on their own and nail every thing they see.

Here is an idea

....Keep the distance the same, but fix the damn issue with them going through things and misfiring....

I just got done playing wake and i counted 5 seperate times that my TVGM went through an Enemy chopper....and 2 times the TV misfired (clicks but does not fire...goes through it's loading cycle again) IN ONE ROUND!!!!!

Yes yes yes yes! Fixing that distance doesn't cares me really.. But that missiles just go trough planes ( Yes I Shoot planes ) choppers and uh.. That's it I'm really really getting tired of that crap... I really hope the next patch will be better but that' s the same what I said last patch ago..

450m is good IMO... Plus, it sucks when you get get your chopper off the ground because of a camping enemy heli that is out of view... (sharqi)

There were enough top players complaining about maps that are decided by who gets the helo in the air first. I still remember interviews with competetive players on that topic.

The world isn't black and white. Some people seem to be unable to understand that people actually care about overall gameplay and not only about winning or losing (reminds me of the squadhopping discussion).

And there still are competetive helicopter pilots complaining that the helos are too powerful. They want a real challenge after they shot down the enemy helo for the first time.

Or Dragon Valley 16. Both sides have a helo there, but a team won't lose if it has a decent helo crew and manages to kill the enemy helo first. Then they just keep the enemy helo down all the time with the TV missile (still having more range than the AA guns) and/or artillery.

In reality those missiles are capable of coming from long distants. Especially with the Apache since it has a Radar and can attack from a mile to two miles away.

If it's 400M then 450M Would be better.. Since I got a lot of out of range but they would have shred the whole chopper to pieces with those 2 Fella's in it giving me 2 Kills :)




But the chopper in the game is not a Apache it's a Super Cobra (AH-1Z)

Why do people always call the chopper "Apache" it doesn't even looks like one..
