    Are these hacks?

A techinique which im seeing more of lately is ppl repeatedly jumping in the air then to prone like a frog going crazy at an all night rave. It is very difficult to hit them and is also ridiculously unrealistic. One player just now mocked me for my inability to shoot him . I tried doing the same thing but it seems pretty much impossible to do it on my setup- not that I want to - but I hate people exploiting things to get an unfair advantage. This technique must be stopped.
My second moan is about aircraft. Now whilst avoiding being shot down whilst an enemy plane was on your tail has always been testing, for me it now seems impossible to avoid being shot down once the warning alarms are sounding. This is the case no matter what death defing manouvres are done. I had put it down to ppl being better flyers than me. However recently whilst playing Wake Island I saw somebody on my own team fly low over the airbase and vitually do a hairpit turn and speed off into the blue yonder with little pause . Looked more like a rally car cornering than a plane manouvering. Hack or game design error?

      Hacks? lol

      1) BF2 was never meant to be realistic. It's intended use was arcadey. However, people complaining constantly got EA to tune it down but it still possesses an arcade feel. You can hit anyone that prone spams and dolphin dives, it's just much harder than shooting some noob who just stands still.

      2) Once you get locked by a plane, you're virtually done for. Even if you drop flares, the guy behind you can still get his missiles to hit. AA and jet missiles were jacked up while flares have less of an effect.

3).. He probably has his sensitivity all the way up + a joystick to manuver like that.

I guess you are one of the guys who does this jumping trick. Just because you dont do it or dont want to do it doesnt mean you are a noob .The whole thing that makes bf2 good is its realism ,why not go and play some sci fi game where you can bounce around with glee

No. It was never advertised as a war sim.

The dolphin diving thing is a silly exploit that some people have turned into a programmed key macro. I feel your pain about the jets, the problem with them is that Air to Air Missiles have been given an enormous boost in terms of power and maneuverability since the 1.2 patch. It was once possible to evade even J-10s but now dogfighting has degenerated so much that even pathetic bomber pilots can shoot down fighters. I made a thread on the issue here http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78074.

As for the guy doing a hairpin turn, he probably crashed into or wing tipped something like a palm tree. It happens sometimes and for some reason you can survive these encounters.

what will happen to the dolfin divers if u take a screenshot?? obviously they wont lose all the points they accumulated by doing it. im taking about all the other matches they did it in. there should be serious punishments for that crap.

                    Re: Are these hacks?

Please this is one of the most unrealistic, realistically modelled QUAKE games out there.

Cleric rezzing the dead in under 1 sec.

Enemy airfields magically reloading and fixing your plane WITHOUT LANDING...

Magic Boxes falling from sky that can heal you fix you, etc....

Squadmates spawning out of the squad leaders pooper ever 15 secs he is alive.

Red and Blue names appearing above your head.

Ability to sortie 60 times in 30 min game.

Game where a sniper rifle accurate to over 1/2 mile gets outgunned by an assualt rilfe at 300 yards.

But Realistically modelled for the kiddies.......

Game is more like military everquest then it is a simulation......

Lol, last time I played Karkand it was like some kind of freak cirus, all these idiots bunny hoping and dolphing diving fast then using the gl. Another reason I never play Karkand anymore.

BF2 is advertised to people who enjoyed playing with GI Joe or similar toys on the ground, not the kiddies who cared about how realistic are the tools inside the Hind model they build (that took months to build might I add :P ).
So BS aside BF2 does have realistic stuff but overall it's not geared towards being a simulation, more of a sand box hollywood action movie style arcade action game. If you want some examples of games that are war sims or have an increased amount of realism than you may want to check out this article http://dslyecxi.com/bestoftactical.html that makes reference to games such as (my fave) Vietcong, RO, Operation flashpoint, BF2 (for it's vehicle turrets), Rainbow 6, and more.

If you want more realism from BF2 i advise you to check out the Project Reality mod @ http://www.realitymod.com/

jesus H christ quit bitching about everything! No I dont use this technique but I sick to death of people crying over bunny hoppers/dolphin divers...what ever!! Who cares!! Play the game and enjoy it. If you cant do that with whining about every little thing then stop playing.
