I think hang gliders are people whoa re in teh air too long. someitmes they get kicked because they suck as pilots and waste the teams assets.

BF2 does not have a hang glider....

with that being said, i think its absolutely a violation to disallow flying at various speeds...there is no section in the rules outlining which speeds are appropriate, and which are not, leaving me to believe that any speed is acceptable...

jets flying at low speeds are easy kills.....anything from eryx, to humvee 50cal to heli hydras, to gunners chaingun, to APC can take a low speed jet out without any problem...

i know what ur saying....there are thousands of other servers......but with ranked, not full, not empty, an acceptable ping ( <100), about 800.......minus all the IO 24/7 karkand, IO 24/7 jalalabad, u get about 100......minus all the servers with less than 30 players, u get about 5...

when i look for a server, i make sure it is not IO, make sure it is not a 24/7 server, and make sure it has atleast 30 players...and a ping less than 100.....this really cuts down on my selection...so much so, that getting kicked, or banned for such a ridiculous reason....really does suck and is a big pain in the ***, as it takes me long enough to find another server matching the above criteria

I think its stupid not to allow flying at low speeds, but not becuase it is a cheap tactic....but because if the pilot can stay alive and not get shot down in 2 seconds while hes just sitting there, then he deserves the kills. At that speed, it is vulnerable to jets, helos, any ground vehicle, AA, snipers, ect.

That makes absolutely no sense... with an hour or two in high performance aircraft (F4.. F15E) I can tell you right now that if a "normal pilot" does not know how to fly the plane in the full spectrum of airspeeds he is worthless and will be dead in a short amount of time.

With that said I doubt if the flight modeling of the jets in BF2 is very realistic... go try Falcon 4 and see what a real flight sim is all about.

Shut up....thats a stupid assed statement. They arent restricting use of vehicles you pudding cup............they are restricting a tactic/lameness used within the vehicle.

As stated MANY times already thier server, thier ****in rules.

Dictating what vehicles can be used and how they can be used is against the ROE.

hmmm...better shut down servers that have a no ramming rule. So if a player get kicked for ramming it's fine but if a player get kicked for flying slow it's admin abuse and breaking ROE? Thats just bs. About 90% of servers have arbitrary rules like no bunny jumping or no ramming and the point of those rules is just to make it more enjoyable for most people, it's probally the same for that no flying slow rule.

I believe in bf1942 it was termed the "superman cheat", from how you explained it, and if i remember correctly. Which I do.
Personaly this dont mean much, but im sure in regards to this post, its what others have been saying........ "gliding the jet" rather then actually flying it.]
Personally i'd rather have a jet guy do this so its easier to kill em.

That was only part of the exploit. It happened when they increased the upwards view angle, people could look upwards and glide around really fast and really far.
The crazy part was that you could jump off of a low building 5-6 feet and I'm not sure if you had to be above water or not, but right before you hit the water you hit the jump key while looking upwards. Then you'd be launched into the air where you could use the gliding exploit to get anywhere on the map.
I only managed to do it once iirc, but the gliding exploit was crazy in Interstate 1982 where you could jump out of the blimp spawn and get to just about any CP.
