You are right about not being executed if you admitted you were a witch.

Lets get off this subject please.

That went surprisingly quickly for EA to ban him. Normally isnt the standard time a few weeks, with one bloke on here saying he was busted about 6 months later???

Its a shame that he is choosing to leave the forums and its a shame he's changing his name. Despite having a bit of a rep as a a loudmouth and whatnot, some of the things he said were in fact insightful and useful. I doubt many people would follow you around mate, most people would i believe just keep on playing the game. Besides, if they were to TK you, well thats what page down was invented for.

@ Heous, perhaps you were more clued up than i and so got less from the thread than i. But i have read each of the 314 posts other than mine and if nothing else i got out 2 things.

1, that the way the weapon moves around makes it more *suspicious* that a player is cheating, but there are other rational explanations for it.

2, im impressed by the way that most people in here managed to stay pretty well on topic, and more important, civil! there wasnt too many flames or insults, which is a most refreshing change!

          Off topic sorta

Haha Baggy could an Aussie say it better than that? Crownies for all! Just to fill you foreigners in what a Crownie is its Australia's most recognised premium beer. All you guys have probably heard of Forsters Lager, well that's the crap we sell off to the rest of the world, all you suckers out there, where a real Aussie wouldn't be caught dead drinking it. Crown Lager is made by the same brewery, Carlton United Breweries who also make my beloved Victoria Bitter, now there's a real beer for a hard earned thirst!

          Back on topic.

I must say this thread alone says a few things.

1stly it impresses me that this site and it members has for the most part been able to have a rational discussion without it turning into a flame fest for the most part! This is what for me and I'm sure a lot of people here set out TBF2 from other forums/BF2 sites. That's why I am a member here and rarely ever look sideways at another BF2 related forum. Thanks to the mods like Gimpy for letting a thread like this run its course!

2ndly: This was a fairly rational discussion, submissions from both sides of the fence, the person involved and we all somewhat reached our own conclusion whether it be guilty, not guilty or undecided. This thread alone again I think shows what TBF2 forums are all about. Freedom of speach, rationality, positive/negative discussion without getting into a flame fest that other forums do. Can I just say how pleased I am with the TBF2 members and how most handled themselves in this thread and gives me the continued faith that I am a member of the right forums and why I still hang around here despite the many many problems this game has and my waning interest of late in this game since the recent patches for 1.2 onwards and my loathing of 1.3 and especially server crashes which effects me financially. re see my sig as a server owner!

EA has made their decison, they obviously studied the evidence, don't make judgements like this lightely, have enough evidence to reset his stats, they don't do this for fun, so the results as far as EA are concerned are clear. EA's verdict is he cheated, whether its true or not though they have made a judgment on it and now his stats are wiped. This doesn't stop him from running his cheats "if" he was though does it? By him saying that he will change account names to me also is a cop out and "may" say he is doing that so he can continue to do so.

What does this say to other people reading this thread that may also cheat? The worst that may happen is you get your stats reset on the "rare" chance that a server runs BR and that admins could be actually bothered to spend the time to review it, if you have a so called PB proof cheat. However. Don't hink you will "always" get away with it because there will be a server with admins who either run the MBL or PB screenies or will go that extra mile if they deem something fishy and look into it further with BR. So be very wary of servers like the admins had in this story with BR, be wary of servers like ours that take PB screenies and have working BR because your so called undetectable PB proof cheats might not be that undetectable after all!

Belive me, EA found compeling evidence that this guy was a cheater, if not they would never wiped his account.
You can tell me that EA has made sokme errors before, but belive me, this kind of action is only made when they are pretty shure they are right.

P.S. - Should have read the previous posts before posting, what I wrote was already been written two postd up :)

My source is Black Adder: The Witchhunter Pursuivant episode. The Witchhunter said that suspected witches were thrown in the water, if they floated then that meant they were really made out of wood, they were witches, and they were burnt at the stake. If they sunk, then they were not witches and they drowned. This sounds like a plausible explanation.

Please don't mention that book (or play, whatever), we had to read it this year in english and it was one of the only times I've actually fallen asleep while reading.

And of course, I must say I'm impressed that this thread managed to hit more than 320 posts and not degenerate into a flamewar. I knew there was a reason I liked it here...

Personally I am glad that this thread wasn't closed and that phenom got his just rewards. The whole point of these forums is an open community driven discussion. The information passed here (flames aside) have helped me identify and be aware of hacks on our server, as I'm sure other server owners/admins will attest to. It has also confirmed some of my opinions regarding people who post on this site (both good and bad) and compels me to remain an avid reader. Kudos to wargimp for not closing it, and to the myriad others who expressed their opinions in positive ways. Best thread in a while to say the least...

I simply came here to defend myself when I knew I was NOT cheating. I could care less about my stats being wiped. Yes I am arrogant and like to boast because I do play clean and can own most people.

I do find it funny that BF2 devs are spending time reviewing material submitted through BFROE but they can't get their lazy asses into fixing the many bugs in his game. It's the reason why this game will be dead in the not so distant future. If EA/DICE would quit being such homos and release their official sdk Myself and my friend could make a great anti cheat better than anything punkbuster can do. My threads where I knew so much about cheats was because I have done my homework on them and yes know more than most do. Take that as oh I know so much I must have cheated or whatever, but I never have.

I may play on my shogun name still when I get back if I dont ge harassed, but if that happens then its a new name.

We all can see that he cheated from that tracking of the player through the hill on Mashtuur. Even if he was spotted by a commander or a teammate, he could not track that person with 100% accuracy through a hill and light him up the instant he was visible. If it was legit, he would have been scanning left and right very quickly to see which part of the hill he came over then engaged.

Clear as day in my book.

Unfortunatly, you've not presented any evidence that supports your claim in the face of these accusations. It would be a fairly simple matter for you to do as PW suggested several pages back and take a fraps vid showing your POV during one of these ownage vids. You say you're on vacation... but that would have been my first action as soon as this whole thing got started.

What makes you think that the Devs have anything to do with stats management? You make an insulting claim here that is flagrantly wrong. EA support staff handles the stats DB, but Dice is the Dev team.
Thus, you've gone done made a stupid comment here.

I find it hard to believe that with your vast knowlage of the industry, you don't even understand the basics of the company organization or what's involved in releasing internal toolsets (like SDKs). Interenal tools are almost always flakey messes full of nasty bugs that require specialized knowlage and work-arounds. Dice/EA isn't going to release their source code. That would be bad business. A *proper* toolset would certainly be apressiated, but it's not a simple thing for them to put out. Even if they did release a much more robust package, it would NOT include anything you could use to make anti-cheats with. That would require source code release and as I mention, that's never going to happen.
Take that as oh I know so much I must have cheated or whatever, but I never have.
Naw. I wouldn't say that because your information is rather flawed. I wouldn't dream of saying you know as much as you seem to think you do.
I may play on my shogun name still when I get back if I dont ge harassed, but if that happens then its a new name.
                                *shrug*
                                Do what floats your boat.
One would hope that you've learned something from all this.
Mouthing off and being condesending to the community is just never a good idea. It irks people and when an issues such as this comes up, they are more than happy to side against you.
When attempting to defend yourself, bring some proof to the table. Don't expect excuses, insults, and flames to see you through. When confronted with damning evidence, respond in kind (with logic, reason, and proof of your own).

And I certainly hope that you now understand that there is no such thing as an undetectable hack. Even something that gets past PB can still be picked up by the players.
