Re: TBF2 forum member caught cheating? You decide...

At the risk of prolonging the discussion, you must admit that the excuse that the enemy player sneaking up beside him was Q-spotted is pretty hard to believe, unless it was by the commander. First, how often does a player Q-spot a single soldier? Not that often. I spot tanks and cars all the time, mainly because I can't do much to them. I spot soldiers only when I see a group of them and they are really too far away to kill.

Secondly, even if somebody spotted that enemy sneaking up on him, whoever spotted would have normally also tried to take the enemy out. Yet I saw no bullet strikes or tracers coming in at the enemy sneaking up. Sure you could say that he had been spotted by the commander, or an engineer who was way to far away to do anything about it. But do you see what is going on? His excuses are getting less likely and less likely as you study them. If you guys don't see this, you have start trying to use those brain cells a bit more. Think, think, think....

Now if you are also a botter and are trying to defend this guy because you see the possiblity that this might happen to you.... Well, your stats are in jeopardy as long as you are botting because who knows who is watching you.

Heous- man, you have ignore one very important thing- he was given a chance to prove himself clean, he ignore it.
They gave the witches the chance to prove themselves clean, now didn't they?

Then I guess you didn't read enough, Nicfurious.

Don't try and get any more replies out of me, I'm done with this discussion. I've made my point as to why I feel this was wrong, and I'm going to stick with it.

Yeah they did, impossible tests. However, making a 10 minute video isnt something impossible. Youre way too desperate to prove a point. Try again later.

No, they simply gave the witches the chance to admit their guilt and be done with it. Okay, that's it, my last post, I'm serious this time (really serious).

You wanted to give me a history lesson, yet you didnt know one of the "tests"? Swimming and drowning rings a bell?

Witch trials varied, there were more than one, you know. Sometimes all they had to do was admit their guilt. Okay now, can we stop? I've stated my point, defended it to the best of my ability, and am tired of arguing. Can you please just let me be on my merry way?

This really wasn't a witch hunt, it was outing someone who was/is a complete douchebag in bf2 and here in the forums. Like wreck stated over and over he would've handled it differently if the guy didn't constantly talk about how superior he was to the rest of us and how much he knew about hacks. People gave him plenty of chances to explain or redeem himself but all he could do was flame. In my opinion he got what he deserved.

Then apparently I didn't know that, and was lacking information. From what I saw it looked like a damn witch hunt, and it looked like it could happen again. Now, can i PLEASE stop arguing? I'm not admitting defeat, I just don't feel that anyone is going to agree with my stance and that arguing further would be fruitless.

And Wreck, I apologize for that thing I said earlier, it was just that what I was seeing was making me incredibly angry and I saw fit to explain my stance on the situation.

Your concerns are important Heous. So many threads deteriorate into flame wars and there are good reasons for these issues to be referred to EA and BFROE only for judgement. The moderators and many other forum members felt that the benefits of this thread outweighed the risks.

Eh, it was a good thread. Yeah there was the odd "He's a twat" comment, but mainly it was "wow" and "whats the answer". It was not a witch hunt at all.

No hard feelings bro. Your opinion is as important as anyone elses here. I do see your point, but I don't think things are that extreme in this case.

I would have loved it if he provided a fraps video of him doing these same amazing things. I would have given him props for being such an outstanding player. The problem is that no one is that outstanding.

This is the only guy I've ever known was cheating without any acutal positive proof like a PB screenshot. I have never called another player out in game. I usually defend players that people call hacker, because I know I've been on the recieving end. This instance just stood out to me for some reason. Sorry if people don't agree with how it was done, but we are better off without phen0m's posts littering this board.

If I remember rightly, the witch trials went as follows. The witches were tied to a chair at the end if a long pole and ducked underwater. If they drowned then they weren't witches, if they didn't drown then they were witches and were burned at the stake.

I don't really think this thread can be compared to a witch trial. Evidence was posted that he was cheating, it's been discussed civilly and I think it's been a really interesting thread. EA chose to wipe his stats but I still don't think we can assume that they're always right about things like this. It's a shame we never got to see the full Battlerecorder file.

Is it so bad that all of my information about Witch Trials comes from The Crucible? I mean, they were letting people get off there by admitting to witchcraft and passing blame to some other person, wasn't that how it was? Sheesh.
