I don't think he is cheating. I love to see cheaters caught, but I don't think he is.

If you are in the vodnik, or anything for that matter, and you start shooting randomly, if you get close enough to a person, their tag pops up. Once that happens, you can easily just aim for their nametag.

I've never done this more than a few times, and I see people doing that exact same thing on mashtuur all the time. It's a very common tactic. I personally think it's cheap as hell though.

I could be mistaken, but I believe that aiming reticule has to actually come in contact with the player. If they're behind a wall (or hill) it wouldn't show.

It's obvious that this issue won't be resolved unless somebody tries experimenting with it. If two people could set up a server, get the vodnik into that position and put another player on the stairs, and then film a video of it, we might be able to see whether this is a cheat or just an exploit.

I'll try it tonight. It isn't pixel aiming, you can't pixel aim from a vehicle sliding down a hill.

What BS this guy is really fishy. Lets see 11,276/74.50= An average of 151 kills per hour in a plane.151/60= 2.51 kills a minute. This guy seems to never have problems finding targets. As we all know everybody has a bad game in a plane . This guy never does. Seems really fishy to me.

I think he flies J-10's exclusively... that would explain the crazy low deaths :hmm: and high kills (carrier rape anyone?).

No matter where they went he knew where they were, and shot them. I was on TS with my clan mates and we were making a game out of it. They would spawn and move to a remote part of the map, I knew where the UAV was so I'd guide them away from it to be sure, and without fail he shot them. He even admitted it ingame chat and put up a link to the site he got the hack from, my buddy on the other team went to it and sure enough, it was a hack site, not MSX. I believe he has sceens from that round with some of the ingame chat.
I've seen at least two other pilots do that type of **** in my time on this game too, you'll be at a flag with absolutely nobody manning a vehicle or fixed weapon and they light you up with their cannon. I hate jets enough but my blood was startin to boil during those rounds after gettin randomly flayed by extremely accurate cannon fire, ya can't say the pilot was just strafing the flag either because this mother ****er was putting small burst on our teams infantry like he was picking them off. Stupid. Sorry had to vent, continue.

I have done stuff similar to that before, but never with such precision. I mean the first vid of the engi running behind the wall, how did he know he was heading towards the bridge and not the other way? I mean i will get the name tag pop up, but you never know for sure which way they are going without some sort of cheat. And that SF on the stairs, he doesnt just stand there, he moves around kinda iradically(sp?) before he is finally killed. And the guy behind the hill, if he knew he was there why would he track him if he wasnt using an aimbot? Why wouldnt he just put his cross hair where he thought he would pop up?

My final conclusion is he is cheating, but without him admiting it on here, or PB SS we will never know for sure.

That is enough for me to now KNOW he is a hacker...

So then is everyone waiting for Phen0m to come in here and post so you can all flame him and interogate him about a demo? If so that is uber childish and petty, calling someone out as a cheater in the forums like this. I think better decorum would have been to ask him a PM stating what a busybody you are and demand an explanation for something that does not concern you in the least.

shall we take this to the supreme court? Judge Dice or E.A Punk Buster might solve this mystery....

Phen0m has already posted in this thread if you'd actually take the time to read.

If the guy wasn't so arrogant in his posting here, then maybe another course of action would have been taken. But a guy that repeatedly posts here about how good he is, how everyone sucks, and building himself up to be such a great player deserves the public humiliation of this thread.

All of his posts are either about his awesomeness , telling people to adapt because they suck, or in a cheating thread. This guy seems to find and post in every cheating thread that pops up on these forums. Not only that but he seems to know an awful lot about how the cheats work if you read his posts.

I'm not inclined to call people a cheater right off the bat because I've experienced more than my fair share of unfair and unjustified accusations with subsequent bans for cheating. In fact at one point I was banned off well over 30 of the most popular 64 player servers in the game for "cheating". So believe me when I say I don't want call someone a cheater unless I'm close to being positive.

I've encountered very few of these people in the hundreds of hours I've played, and all of my encounters with people I'd suspect as cheating have been very similar to what you see phen0m doing in the video such as accurately and consistently shooting me and other players through the fog (the vehicle mounted MG seem to very popular for this), or tracking other players while they're in building, behind fences, ect.

Watching the videos though leaves little doubt in my mind that phen0m is cheating on at least some basic level. I'd suspect at the very least a basic no fog hack of some kind but watching him track that player around the hill leads me to believe that some other cheat might be involved. That isn't to say phen0m can't clear his name though.

My challenge to phen0m, within the next couple days (time frame is important). Use FRAPs and capture a whole round of you playing exactly like you were in the video on the Mashtuur. Show us how you accurately shoot players through fog without cheats, and then I'm sure we'll all believe you. I released similar videos of me piloting and the cheating accusations pointed towards me quickly vanished, and I imagine a similar video would have the same effect for you. Can't hide cheats through a FRAPs video, and if you do disable them and record I doubt you'll be doing any fog shooting or even manage a very good score.

Of course, I'll also take the admission of no video on your part to be more evidence that you are in fact using cheats of some kind.

                                Be nice.

You obviouisly haven't read the whole thread (and who could blame ya... it's quite the sprawl).

Phenom did drop in to say he wasn't cheating... but then again, would a cheater confess?

The interesting thing about this thread is the fact that it shows how hard it can be to tell the difference between a real cheater and someone who's just got some tricks.

I'm reasonably convinced that those BR vids show a cheat at work. The way his mounted gun bounces from target to target looks like a well writen aimbot to me. Likely a privet hack writen better than most.

Anyway, the thread still hasn't degenerated yet and people are being generally good considering the subject.
