      For those that don't know:

PB= Scanning what is loaded into memory and in very few instances they scan a whole file. Not sure in this game, but a good example is in BF42 they scan the whole BF42.exe file.

Pure Mode aka Content Check= Scans file integrity, to put it short and in not so complex terms. As in, it checks to make sure you haven't altered the games core files.
It also scans a few .con files and .RFA's. With the CRC check you were unable to alter any map, vehicle, or weapon files. Before the 1.4 patch this was a common method of hacking the game. You could disable fog on all maps as well as make radar (not minimap), scope, and other weapon tweaks. For instance you could put a sniper scope on your pistol.

I'm pretty well aware of how manual file alterations were/are used to cheat in gaming, that type of cheating has been going on in the BF series since BF42 and existed way before BF in general.

I was talking about PB in general only scanning (by default) what is loaded into memory and scanning a few select files, not what could all be accomplished by altering files

I used to do some free work for an anti-cheating program for a different game, so none of what can be done or is happening really isn't big news to me, only news to me is just the different ways people find to do things that shouldn't be done

I know I quoted you, but I was pretty sure you already knew all of what I stated based on your previous post. I was just attempting to further educate those who may not have known all this.

The 1.4 patch for me put a damper on some of the more positive mods like custom airplane skins, and skin/sound packs such as Merciless' mod. I used to love how maps like BOtB looked with the snow camo and snow littering things like ammo crates.

Maybe I'm taking it too old school for some here.

I've known about this for a while. Great for movies.

If this is tried on a ranked server you'll get an Unmodified client error.

Would it work if say, you copied the map file, added onto the filename (like Mashtur 2), and the server edited it the same way, could you play on it?
